General use guide here: Using the Forum: General Use
1. Quoting and Replying
Replying
To reply to a specific post in a topic, clicking the grey Reply button at the end of each post and your reply is linked to that post.
- Your post will include a new link in its header with an image to show what this is ‘in reply to’ - clicking this link displays that previous post for context next to your reply
- The original post includes a count of replies at the bottom - clicking this link displays the content of the replies
Quoting
To insert a quote, select the text you wish to quote, then press the Quote button that pops up. Repeat this for multiple quotes even from different posts and different users. The quoted text will point to their original source.
To quote an entire post, click on the button to the far left of your composer editor panel.
If you’re replying to one person, it may suffice to not quote them and just Reply to their post.
2. Filtering by a Player’s Posts (ISO)
To filter a topic by a particular user’s posts - click on the human symbol icon in the post menu (row of buttons at the bottom of every post). When the filter is turned on, the button will change to one that turns the filter off. The position of the topic is maintained based on the post where you hit the button.
To find a particular user, go to the Frequest Posters box in first post in a topic. Click on their avatar, and then click on “n posts in topic”. We do not reccomend you use this method of isoing when the post menu button is available since it does not maintain position of posts and always reverts to the top of the topic.
3. Voting and Tracking Votes
Vote using vote tags: [vote]Name[/vote]
or [v]Name[/v]
.
Unvote using unvote tags: [unvote][/unvote]
or [uv][/uv]
.
You can see who is voting who in a topic by clicking on the gavel button at the far left of the post menu.
Hosts use the [reset][/reset]
to clear all votes before that post or [votecount][/votecount]
tags to set a particular set of votes. Players should not use these tags.
4. Game Navigation
The “i” info symbol in the header opens a modal that shows
- Ongoing games with links to important events
- Games in signups
You can bookmark posts by clicking on the corresponding button in the post toolbar, and you can access them by going here or by clicking the corresponding symbol at the top of your account menu/mobile tab bar.
