there are definitely times when a vote reaction is the only/best way to really judge what you’re trying to judge though.
I’m out for the next normal-person-sleeping-number-of-hours. We still have like a day and a half here, I don’t think we’re at a point where it’s crucial to be locked in. In PlayDipLand things usually get the most exciting during the last like 4 hours anyway.
I’m not necessarily always looking for a vote reaction. I’m just looking to draw attention to certain issues that I want to talk about. That’s what I mean when I say that I “don’t necessarily believe in” my case against Doggo. It was just an issue I wanted to put into the thread to move the game forward.
My vote for UFO is a legitimate vote. He is currently my top suspect.
Oh you think I’m hot?
probably sub-opt here given time zones
This is true on the Syndicate as well. Vote polls don’t matter at all until the final 90 minutes or so.
Votecount as of post #395
Ellibereth (1): UFOFever
UFO Fever (1): Sloonei
Not Voting (5): DoggoPlays, Fatmo, Ellibereth, M2H, kimpossible
I tend to think last 4 hours for the biggest talking spurt is sort of chaotic and when there’s that little time I feel like scum can more easily slip into the chaos. Something more like last 12 hours is better for town to actually figure stuff out, especially since in the last 12 hours you can expect everyone in the thread to be awake / not at work for at least a little bit of that time, something you can’t guarantee in 4 hours.
I get the game has a life of it’s own sometimes, but hoping whatever happens here we can at least pace that action. I don’t want to set up an uhhhhhh excuse for scum to go crazy in this day’s last hours just because they think they can get away with it as being “normal.”
Yeah if you pause time roughly 12-24 hours before deadline and see who would have died there and compare to EoD shenanigan actual death when it happens the former tends to be a bit more accurate.
Not where I come from.
have you guys measured it?
Ehh. I’ve been having dinner and/or playing video games with a friend of mine on the other side of the country. Not in the headspace to argue tbh
No, not really. I’m just going off memory and feeling. It feels like we lynch more successfully when we have chaotic end days. And when we don’t, there’s a clear and concise record of how everybody acted in that period, so it makes the following day’s lynch that much easier as well.
That is fine and understandable. I look forward to your response when you can provide it.
Maybe my Elli vote needs to move, but he said the way to read him as town/scum is if his reads are accurate. By refusing to read anyone in this actual game I have to assume he’s deliberately avoiding trying to do that.
Because seriously, reads of players in the other game might as well be written in Arabic to me. I don’t know how to read it and I’m not going to bother to learn it.
Ok, last thing before bed. Chess says the way to deal with Elli is trust his reads, if he’s wrong then he’s scum and you lynch him. I don’t particularly like playing a game where I’m not actually playing which is what that would be, but I at least respect the logic.
However I’m not sure where that leaves us in terms of this game, since as UFO has pointed out, most of his reads are not in the game he’s actually in.
(Also the cross-game chatter is kinda annoying.)
This is where I am at regarding Elli. I can respect that there’s a strategy at play here, but it effectively strips the rest of us of the agency to produce a read on that player, which is unhelpful.
Absolutely hate the way the reads are developing on nutella in the big ass yacht.
I have not read that thread carefully enough to say definitively that anyone is or isn’t town, but the things she is being suspected for (from what I can tell. I see a lot of “she’s just scum” nonsense) are just nutella’s settling-in process in action. She’s a fantastic civilian when she gets rolling. Absolutely not the type of player you want to lynch on Day 1.
Listen to me yacht-clubbers, I am smart.
chesskid has played 0 games with nutella.
Sloonei and JaggedJimmyJay have played around 50 games with nutella.
chesskid refuses to listen to Sloonei and JaggedJimmyJay when they say not to lynch nutella.
