Ehh. I’ve been having dinner and/or playing video games with a friend of mine on the other side of the country. Not in the headspace to argue tbh
No, not really. I’m just going off memory and feeling. It feels like we lynch more successfully when we have chaotic end days. And when we don’t, there’s a clear and concise record of how everybody acted in that period, so it makes the following day’s lynch that much easier as well.
That is fine and understandable. I look forward to your response when you can provide it.
Maybe my Elli vote needs to move, but he said the way to read him as town/scum is if his reads are accurate. By refusing to read anyone in this actual game I have to assume he’s deliberately avoiding trying to do that.
Because seriously, reads of players in the other game might as well be written in Arabic to me. I don’t know how to read it and I’m not going to bother to learn it.
Ok, last thing before bed. Chess says the way to deal with Elli is trust his reads, if he’s wrong then he’s scum and you lynch him. I don’t particularly like playing a game where I’m not actually playing which is what that would be, but I at least respect the logic.
However I’m not sure where that leaves us in terms of this game, since as UFO has pointed out, most of his reads are not in the game he’s actually in.
(Also the cross-game chatter is kinda annoying.)
This is where I am at regarding Elli. I can respect that there’s a strategy at play here, but it effectively strips the rest of us of the agency to produce a read on that player, which is unhelpful.
Absolutely hate the way the reads are developing on nutella in the big ass yacht.
I have not read that thread carefully enough to say definitively that anyone is or isn’t town, but the things she is being suspected for (from what I can tell. I see a lot of “she’s just scum” nonsense) are just nutella’s settling-in process in action. She’s a fantastic civilian when she gets rolling. Absolutely not the type of player you want to lynch on Day 1.
Listen to me yacht-clubbers, I am smart.
chesskid has played 0 games with nutella.
Sloonei and JaggedJimmyJay have played around 50 games with nutella.
chesskid refuses to listen to Sloonei and JaggedJimmyJay when they say not to lynch nutella.
@ActionDan “Rolling” refers to the state of play on like Day 2 or 3 after the game has progressed a little bit and information exists in the thread. nutella is golden in those situations.
Given the number of viable ways to eliminate a player in this game (I assume. nanook promised lots), ensuring that nutella can’t make it past Day 1 seems like an inadequate use of the first lynch of the game. And besides that, I simply read her as town.
I’d prefer not to continue this dialogue, as nanook asked us not to engage in too much cross-thread communication and I already feel like this has been excessive.
I was reviewing other places and I was internally bitching about certain features they don’t have r.e. stats…but then I realized we don’t publicly have them either
Yet!
Motivating.
@chesskid3 what percent of the time does nutella flip scum here?
@Sloonei what percent of the time do they flip town?
@chesskid3 don’t bs me plz real percentage, I’ll accept if its 100 but I’m making certain assumptions then.
okay sure, just give me the actual in language only we can understand lmao.
I’m basically saying if you’re day-cop just claim.
@nutella Many of us have been playing mafia for a very long time yet we clearly have very different opinions on how this game works.
To quote Jay, the game is not an equation. I don’t have an answer to this. She is either town or she is not. I think her lynch on Day 1 has more potential to hurt town than to help, and I’ve seen nothing to suggest she even deserved to be lynched.
I think this is the core of all our disputes
This is definitely true. The Syndicate is all about open dialogue and communication. 451 does not seem to value those things as much. I have not figured out what you guys prioritize instead. I’m sure it is domething.
We value whatever each of us think is optimal, though there’s no real consensus on even what should be optimized and it’s still an ongoing process within that for a lot of us.
(e.g. while I think what I do is optimal for town in a vacuum it’s really damaging in a bigger picture when scum games are involved, still figuring that out…)
