Stormy Seas (NSIMI Game A)

This might be true in some environments. It might be false in others.

Also FYI, the game at Playdip just ended a few hours ago. It ended in a very abrupt and kind of intense note, and I’m assuming that Kim will likely want to take a bit to decompress a bit because of the people involved. Maybe we hear from her this evening, but I wouldn’t count on it or hold it against her if we don’t hear much from her.

Oh, and I don’t know if we ever talked about where people are, even though we’ve had most of our discussions at evening/night for me? Sometimes useful to know just for like expectations about when we are likely to hear from each other. I’m in Pacific time. UFO is Pacific and Kim is Eastern.

Oh, and since that one just ended, that’s another proven example of all three of us correctly townreading each other. Like I’d said, I’d hoped Kim and I were getting better at reading each other, and we pretty much had each other as pretty strong town since D1 of that game. And I’m pretty strongly townreading her in this one too.

By all three of us, I mean Kim, me, and UFO, just to be explicitly clear.

I’m on the US east coast.

Fatmo is town. Activate soul read.

(Actually this isn’t really a soul read, absolutely nothing Fatmo is doing here is giving me scum pings compared to the couple scum/not town games I’ve played with him. Seriously, don’t kill Fatmo. Kill me before him because while I’m town I’m already feeling the burnout and annoyance and I’m not gonna be a help.)

Why do you feel more burnt out or annoyed than you seem to assume you’d feel this early?

Similar annoyance in this game than in the last time I played, admittedly slightly less this time but also this game is like half the size. but this time with different people. It’s a whole lot of “ahh here I go again” and I’m just not really here for it

Elli is unlikely to be lynched today. I do not town read him, but I cannot envision a scenario where anyone drums up enough support to get him lynched. So that’s off the table.

I doubt that I am being lynched today. Nobody has voiced serious suspicion against me and I’ve received mostly favorable reads (in terms of alignment) from you all. Unless somebody thinks otherwise, I feel that I am off the table.

Doggo seems to be off the table by virtue of authoritative voices deeming him so. I maintain slight reservations toward him, but no more so than I do toward anyone who is not an outright town read. While I am not opposed to exploring his lynch today, I think it’s an unlikely event.

Fatmo is the only firm read that I have in this thread and I believe he is town. Unless something dramatic happens, I will argue against his lynch.

We are left with M2H, Kimpossible, and UFOFever.
Kim is suggested to be town by chessman, but we do not have confirmation of his alignment, not does he evidently have confirmation of her alignment if I am understanding their neighbor claims a bit more. If I have the time, I would like to scrutinize that relationship a bit more. I have had a few independent minor gripes with Kim that haven’t been addressed, but she is currently the member of this trio that I am least inclined to lynch.
M2H has produced less content than anyone else in the thread. Their reads have been uninspired. I can understand a vote for them for a simple lack of reason to be town-read.
UFO is the player I feel has the most substantial case to be made against them, but even that is light. It’s also been about 24 hours since I put it into the thread and exactly 0 people have reacted to it, which is maddening. My vote is on UFO at the moment. We have just under 24 hours remaining. In that time I would like to decide if I should move my vote or not.

In an ideal world, what would you like to see happen over the remaining 21 hours?

It seemed snarky to me, and I enjoy a bit of well-aimed snark.

It was not snarky, that was a genuine take. I assume there’s a method at work here, but I’m unclear on exactly what that is.

Anyway, this answer clears away what would have been my concern. I have no objection to the Like.

Who should we lynch?

Appreciate this. I am taking a bit of time, yes. Though also I have an RPG tonight. I’ll be around tomorrow.

Rereading, also I <3 you talking about valuing open dialogue and communication. We play that way as PlayDip as well.

Nothing here has changed my answer. Fatmo is town. UFO seems more town to me now than he did even earlier today. I’m not voting Elli or Doggo. So M2H, or you. I assume you’d prefer the former of those, I think it could be both of you. Or maybe not, and Elli is wrong for once. Or is scum. In any case, I’m happy with my vote continuing to stay on M2H.

Could you walk me through why UFO is town? Do any particular posts or moments in the game stand out to you in your read of him?

As an aside, I feel it would be very easy for Elli to be scum right now given the way he is playing and the environment he’s in.

#533 stands out, actually. UFO likes playing scum and I think he’d be having more fun doing it here. Expressing burnout and requesting we lynch him over Fatmo doesn’t seem like scum behavior from him.

I don’t know how to make it link to the post. It seemed to do it automatically earlier. /shrug

What if I argued that’s just a ploy to get us off his scent? Volunteering for self-sacrifice is an easy way to score townie points.

That’s how it’s been working for me too. odd

It’s really more to do with the attitude of burnout rather than the volunteered self-sacrifice. That’s just a symptom. I think if he was scum, he’d be enjoying this more, but he’s not.
