Not sure.
But it was a big deal in the last game I played where he did it.
I managed to get him lynched when he was the town doctor and I was scum partly because of his day one fake claim.
That would have been the Deep Space Nine game Fferyllt ran.

Uh you and Nanook did some extraordinary scum theatre on d1 of deep space nine. You’ve got the idea backwards… d1 is the best place for scum theatre because people form first impressions that aren’t easily shaken, whereas it’s less useful on d2+ because people are more wary of that crap on later days.
I mostly think they’re scum together because their individual behaviour is bad; they’re independently scummy.
DS has called Mantis’s posts townie twice now, and still has her down as PoE scum over the null reads of InactionDan and RileyFlake. Why Neymar gets PoE’d instead of either of those two is beyond me (DS if you want to chime in on this, you should). His switch from Erika to Mantis was weird and came down to Mantis not answering a question, which is not really a scum tell. A townsperson would just repeat the question, but it looked like DS really wanted to vote for Mantis. This is why I said that it looked like skitter and DS were teaming up against Mantis to try to crack her, because DS’s vote is super shaky and scummy and no good at all and makes it look like he’s looking for a reason to pressure-vote her.
skitter is in the same place as DS, called Mantis’s posts townish without actually unvoting. She even said she’d proxy her read of Mantis to those with more experience playing with her, but she’s still voting! The meta thing where she’s more cautious as scum is a load of crap because she’s been cautious in this game. The entire stem of my push on skitter is her cautious vote on Mantis. She uses cautious, de-escalating diction such as ‘fair enough’, ‘kinda’, ‘well’, etc. Her most recent interaction with Erika is a good example because she asks Erika why she’s pushing cats instead of Andres, and when the answer is that cats is easier to read, skitter says ‘fair enough’. Like how on Earth is that ‘fair enough’, Erika gave a totally garbage response, it just looks like skitter isn’t interested in pursuing a conversation with Erika. The only difference I’ve noticed between this game and ds9 is that she isn’t making wall posts (which I appreciate tbh). But her tone and behaviour definitely points toward that of cautious scum not willing to make a dicey push on somebody (and not willing to unvote Mantis because it means she’d have to come up with another person to push/read).

Agreed that D1 is the time for scum theater, but I don’t really see that in DS/Skitter’s play. I think it’s just as easily if not more easily explained by buddying, or by two town working with similar thought processes.
I do think that Urist looking for narrative like this is pretty normal for him, though, right? So I think my townread there stays.
I have basically zero interest in trying to sift whatever the fuck Riley cakes is saying, but at least they’re kinda sorta posting.
Would really like to hear from @ActionDan and @Neymar though, cause we’re fast approaching the “nobody really looks super scummy to me, so it must be a lurker” point of the day.

Oh, also—this is a tone read. I don’t see much reason for this to be a bad/scummy tone read unless skitters is scum. But without a red flip of skitters, this is fine. So you’re badically reading DS as scum based on an assumption that skitters is also scum…which, at least from my POV, is not a safe assumption…and probably shouldn’t be treated as a safe assumption by you either, in all honesty, given that we’re only like two thirds through D1 and there hasn’t been a blatant scum slip.
So…maybe cool your jets on the second order scumreads?
I’m still working out how I feel about you/DS/Skitters, but yeah, at this point I think there’s a decent chance there’s a scum in the inactives. That or I’m just reading the game very wrong, right? And I’d like to think that I’m not reading the game very wrong, at least not until I see a flip to make me think I am, so yeah, I think I might be at that point.
Please dont tell me to cool my jets when I’m just sitting here wondering if maybe urist is right, and reconsidering that at the time when having our back and forth it did feel like I could have been talking to scum. I’m not fully convinced and I’m not trying to convince anyone or freaking out about it. Just considering again.

My switch from Erika to Mantis had a lot to due with Mantis’ horrible push on me and the fact that she had literally been voting me since my first post in the game, which you are clearly ignoring as like a solid motivation for grabbing someone’s attention on day one, and if you actually read what it is I posted you would see that it’s really the lack of reads progression that I find super scummy about Mantis.
For Neymar, I didn’t like his pop in and how he entered the game. Would I vote there today? Likely not, because I got a weird feeling about how much he was mentioned at the beginning of the day before he showed up, though that doesn’t mean he isn’t in the POE simply for lack of participation which, often enough, is a scum tell for some players.
