Deep Space 9 Mafia - Game Over!

“maybe”? no, marvellous mantis, it’s guaranteed i am town!

Ah! You were in neutral. I’ve had you as a Town read for most of the game, but after going over the Nanook interactions I’m not so sure anymore. So, that explains that.

from your pov…

but ya, why jump through hoops to explain what he saw… and ignore what would seem to be the most obvious (you visiting her).

ok

because i didnt!

So as far as I can tell, there are a couple of possibilities here. Writing them down more for my own sake than for anyone else’s.

  1. MS was targeted by a redirector and Cabd is a town tracker who saw MS redirected.
  2. MS was targeted by a redirector and Cabd is the redirector and is fake claiming tracker.
  3. MS was targeted by a track-framer and Cabd is a town tracker affected by the frame.
  4. MS was targeted by a roleblocker and Cabd is the roleblocker and is fake claiming tracker.
  5. MS is making it up and Cabd is a town tracker who saw MS kill muffins.

I guess there’s an obvious question here that I forgot to ask.
@Cabd why did you choose to target MS?

Because i mistook earlier posting for a mason claim. How else would one explain a mason making a night action visit? Ffery isn’t generally the type to give masons additional powers.

Metal sonic is in my “I can’t read for shit, hope I have a PR or somebody else PR’s them” list.

Even though you thought Josh’s vote on MS was scummy? Why not track Josh instead?

UNVOTE: Judge while I decide what to do with my life.

How do these reads work? If you think Cabd is scum, how do you not have a town read on MS?

I want to vote cabd and Ms for both being needlessly difficult

I think they’ve claimed just enough.
Cabd fullclaimed tracker who saw MS visit _ffery.
MS claimed that he didn’t target _ffery, but received a message possibly indicating he’d been redirected. I don’t see how him claiming more info would help.

It’s the uncertainty. It becomes a Town read once we collapse one of the two. Though I’m leaning more negatively on Cabd, which is why MS is Neutral.

We need to hear more from pyx. He’s been a bit waffly today it seems.
@pyx What do you think about MS? What do you think is the most likely scenario out of these, or do you think something else is more likely?

The thing is, if there is a redirector and did switch MS; the person they switched MS with would likely be scum

Where is the idea of mason coming up in the timeline of tracking?

Redirector simply forces a guy to target someone else. You might be thinking of bus driver. That’s something I hadn’t considered, and it would make sense with the info we have.

I’ve already said what I’ve thought about both MS and cabd, back at #2084/#2100, before your presentation of “most likely scenarios”. Not sue what I think of your narrowing down the possibilities, but yeah, I think something else is more likely IF we take the obfuscated claims at face value.

Neither cabd nor MS have been completely forthcoming, and I’m not yet sure what to make of that either, AND I don’t know if the purposefull obfuscation has the ring of falsehood or of safeguarding info from not wanting to reveal info helpful only to mafia. I mean, as I’ve previously said, mafia already are the informed minority likely knowing who is town or who is not mafia, and so who they’d like to target.

I don’t like claiming, but yeah, I realise it can be helpful. Soft-claiming always seems even worse to me, but I’m not yet sure that’s the extent of a finalised dialog. Both parties seem to be jockeying for position with what they’re willing to first reveal. OK, so cabd claims Tracker, but certainly NOT what is normal for the role, and when we tried to get clarity on the MS visted a _fferyllt corpse claim we only got more obfuscation.

Without actually saying it, MS claims to at least have had a night action, but also wants to at once claim they DID NOT visit (or at least target, while using the word “visit”). That is, I believe the part where Worf (_fferyllt) found MS, “in the middle of the ship corridor during the night… very confused… maybe… sleepwalking”, who then, “went back to [MS]'s bunk to continue sleeping”.
So yes, it at first seems at least plausible that MS may have unknowingly killed _fferyllt while still being town, but then how does _fferyllt send MS a PM after he’s dead? Or was it after he died? I think it’s at least sure that their paths crossed.

And then there’s still the Orbs and the bauble. Now, the Neighbours or whatever seem to claim that’s an Orb thing, but I know from reading up on flavour a bit that the Orbs can give hallucinations, AND, I know there are a few various baubles in DS9 that have varoius meanings that may or may not be in play, though Judge Mental assures us it’s of no consequence, and that too may be true, as far as any players know, so…

TL;DR, what I mean is really we just have to find the mafia, and so sort through posts to see what we believe. And I’m not yet sure, so if that’s seen as “waffly”, so be it.
