Texas Town (Town Win!)

I mean you and I just dont see eye to eye on how social deception games like this are meant to be played ala wifom. If you want to see it as a black and white - scum flip doesnt prove a slip fine thats your perogative but if I see something that I think is a slip and it turns out to be a scum flip later im going to say that what it is that i saw that lead me to think you were scum actually is something that was an indication that you were scum

there are unspoken vibes you can catch between the lines when dealing with human interactions even through the computer.

I think there is some overlap between things that town players do and things that scum players do that you really can’t draw a person’s alignment from. Elli is saying that the types of “slips” that you draw attention to are potentially in that category.

You said that 7/10 times a person you said has slipped turned out to be mafia which shows that sometimes, townies do what you would call a “scum slip.” If townies do something, it can’t be scum indicative.

I would say those 3 times are more misinterpretations on my part also thats not a real stat

Perspective slips are a real thing and they happen more than you all are making it out to be

Tune in your 3rd eye and you will see them

I would like Elli’s thoughts on these posts and w/e data he has on DS whenever he decides its optimal to post content

If you see a black cat cross the road you think “that means it’s going to rain today” and then it rains, it doesn’t mean black cats crossing the road are an indicator of rain.

I agree that slips are a thing (I define a slip to be anything someone unconsciously does that they are significantly more likely to do when they are scum than they are town) - I actually think that they’re one of the very few reliable things you can use consistently for reads in game (the other two being conscious differences and player interactions).

What I dispute are some of the particular things you point out as being nontrivially more likely to come from a particular player as some alignment.

Anyway I suspect neither of us will convince the other that they’re wrong in the near future and certainly not in a game so I’ll drop it.

I was in the middle of checking xD.

What thoughts do you want me to have.

I want to know whether you’ve seen DS ever split my play by site meta as town bc I only remember him doing it one particular game where he was scum, and he did that in order to back up a read on me.

Off the top of my head he did it in Demonic when he was town.

I think there’s sufficient evidence he does believe in thinking about cross-site play that way for people for who it applies.

I think he specifically said he didn’t see a reason to split my play by site, but he may have reconsidered after I brought up how different my play by site is.

:man_shrugging:

Don’t think it’s anything significant.

eh i didn’t know thought I might have had something but here’s the post DS says right after that.

Eh, don’t think that’s anything.
We change our mind or disobey ourselves on what we will or won’t do all the time :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah I’m not going to respond to this because it’s not the thread for it but I do want to say that I’m not pushing that as the reason people should be voting for him, I’m just responding to mewtwos posts toward me. that it just the thing that makes ME tune into that he may be scum but people would be hard pressed to find any instance of me using a perspective slip as a major point on any push against someone

P sure I brought up the site differences in your meta when I subbed into Samoyeds game that I just won over there

you were scum that game which is why i thought that may have been a tell for you.

You were also scum tho :3
