The lynch rules will be an unseemly hybrid of majority and plurality: If at any time before the deadline a player receives 50%+1 votes, the day will end with their lynch. If no majority is reached before deadline, then the player with the most votes will be lynched. If there is a lynch vote tie, then the player who received the tie vote first will be lynched.

Yes, it makes sense. It means days won’t go endlessly on-and-on as they can in some majority games, but that as in majority games, days can be short if town reaches an early consensus on who is scum.
