I was trying to formulate a potential argument as to why M2H is not voting for Dusk here, but I broadly agree actually. If Dusk is the likely lynch here (and I think they are), there’s little reason to not vote for them unless you have a genuine belief that Dusk is Town. Which is what I would ask.
@M2H, do you think Dusk is Town here? In #533 you stated that you thought Dusk was Scum (Point 1). Has that changed?
Inb4 wails of “noooooooo not a wall”: It’s a pet peeve of mine when a player catches up and just responds to every post as they come to it with no regard for subsequent posts. So I always create a wall to help ensure that anything I say that’s stupid is actually due to my own stupidity and not because I asked a question before reading four more posts down where the answer already resides.
Sometimes I create a wall because that’s just how I roll, but this is specifically a catch-up wall.
What is this sorcery??? …nope, this feature isn’t my favorite. Uses avatars (grr) which change and now I can’t easily see which one is G Tacc/K-Bab. EWP: Oh, they commented on this; thanks! Meh, still not quite familiar with avatars to like the feature, though.
/barn. I like that you’re showing your thought process here.
This pinged me. When you say you wouldn’t know that, what is the “that” you’re referring to?
@GTacc: I wondered if anyone would pick up on me dropping a possible derpclear while simultaneously accusing Makaze of trying to derpclear. You absolutely should/should not clear me for it.
Do you think that’s indicative? Of what? Why?
I also like this insight.
@ActionDan I feel like your concerns with my first few posts are more indicative of me being new to the site and getting a feel for the forum. Not that you should cut me any slack for being new (especially since it’s not like I’m new to the game), but I’m surprised you don’t even seem to be considering that as a factor.
@Makaze: I feel like you fit into my preconceived notion of an associative analysis player, which helps me filter your posts accordingly. Your discussion of how you approach the game made that click for me, but I’m still not sure I see you actually following through, especially with me flaking for 400 posts and you appearing to have multiple reads but just letting your vote stagnate on me. Your read on me is that strong? Who’re my buddies, then?
@Tier: Similarly, I have internally categorized you as the token lolposter of the game, which I can accept as a completely valid and often effective way to play (not to mention, for the lolposters, at least, fun), just not my personal style. I look forward to finding out if you’re the variant that lolposts until stuff gets real and then turns into Solvey McSolverton, or if you just lolpost the whole way through. Unfortunately, I usually can only figure out if lolposters are town or scum based on knowing their meta, so you get a townlean for now.
After some consideration, I definitely prefer the Varsoon posts prior to 815 over the tn ones.
VOTE: Ellibereth
A lot of their posts are helpful fluff (even to the non-new players), and their progression has basically been Dusk => MewTwo => “Let’s wagon both.” => (150 posts later) “Actually I think we should wagon both.” There’s very little in the way of insight or investigation, and as far as I can see, no re-evaluation at all.
And if Elli is scum, fair chance one of Dusk/Mewtwo is scum, but almost never both.
And I suppose 818 could be an Elli buddy trying to add weight to Elli’s push, but there’s some sincerity in those mini cases, so could be pure. I disagree with your read on Dusk’s 711, though @Andresvmb, as that felt very tongue in cheek to me, and I think you’re taking it seriously. What do you think the chances are that BOTH Dusk and Mewtwo are scum?
Man, I LOVE the “votecount as of this post” feature!! Also @Ellibereth Thank you for the ? => Keyboard Shortcut Keys!
Going old school:
Town
Chess
Panopticon
Tier
ActionDan
Makaze
Andres
Beeboy
MewTwo
StarV
G Tacc
Dusk
Ellibereth Scum
I wouldn’t be opposed to a Dusk lynch, though, and would certainly vote there to prevent a no lynch (no lynch is an option?).
There, I’m saying that StarV building Town Blocks is NAI because he does it regardless of alignment. StarV responded that this is different in that his Town Block is actually composed of Towny players (list in #268), and so I should Town Read him for it. At the time, I did not agree for two reasons: (i) StarV could place any two names that he knows have historically been able to clear each other in previous games and make the same argument, and claim to be right (and demand to be TR for it together with the other two players), and (ii) I did not have a solid grasp of Chess’ alignment. With regards to (ii), I have a stronger TR of Chess now, but I still think Star’s argument was a bit premature. I’m not SR him for any of it though - there’s definitely bigger fish to fry here I think.
