Mall Pirate Mafia

This was pretty much what I was thinking as a first instinct as well.

And I did clarify that scum still have scumchat even if they are late arrivals. So they have all this time to see the direction the thread is going and come up with strategies to take advantage of wherever things are when they get in the game.

Andres just made me go :frowning:

Why?

Can you expand on this?

Iā€™m not sure how to feel about Andres, I donā€™t have any disagreement with what heā€™s said and I like the tone of his posts but that might be more of a cool person read than an alignment read

I wish we could nuke 4 instead of 2 tt

This part but I am slightly tipsy rn

Itā€™s kinda hard to say and Iā€™m not gonna pretend my reads on Andres are good but it feels too pc and not enough conversation, itā€™s making s long post to satisfy criteria rather than talking the game out I think

Iā€™ve been thinking about this as a strategy, and I think itā€™s a bad one. And itā€™s fairly simple in my mind - you might get away with this in part D1, but you would get slaughtered D2. And that I think is the big risk of having too many Mafia here early. I do think the setup incentivizes Mafia to pick whoever they think can survive like a cockroach the first few days, and defer as many of their brethren as possible.

I know better than to ask Elli for reasons on his reads. What I do want to do is use them for focus because Iā€™ll be honest, Iā€™ve never played in a game this big with this many players I donā€™t know, so a little direction is a boon.

Does it seem like Andres has put too much thought into scum strategy? Discuss.

That bit does feel a little like stating the obvious ngl

Nah you should be putting thought into scum strategy if you are trying to read them thatā€™s correct town play not scummy

#getinlosersweregoingshopping

I mean, the most meh thing about that quote is that it just seems like itā€™s kind of obvious that we should be scrutinizing people that enter the thread late. But I donā€™t think itā€™s bad to explicitly say and I donā€™t really see this as AI. Then again, one thing I know from observing two or three games here is that you people have freakishly good reads on each other on sometimes very few posts that I wouldnā€™t see as AI myself. So Iā€™ll keep my eye on how this develops between you two but Iā€™m not actually reading into any of this yet.

Not where I come from.

StarV is in the deferred pool. So maybe hold this thought until later.

Youā€™re trying to read Andres who comes from here though, Iā€™m trying my best to be the mafia 451 tour guide to those who will flame post game for people not explaining enough

Thatā€™s fair.

But do you think there exists such a thing as using ā€œWhat I think scum would doā€ too heavily as a way of getting out of making actual reads based on whatā€™s actually happening now, vs hypothetical scum plays?

You know, I havenā€™t been outside in like multiple days, so I have no idea how the weather really feels right now. What I can tell you is that my AC is blasting and Iā€™m feeling nice and cool.

I think thatā€™s different than implying that thinking about how scum would play makes you scum, Iā€™m already suspicious of Andres but he would think of good scum play regardless of alignment because heā€™s a good player

Iā€™d nuke star twice today tbh.
