“If there are multiple Neighborhoods in the same game, chances are very good that at least one of them has a scum Neighbor.”
There is more to it than that
Can you like make some effort to enlighten us? Because so far this game you’ve claimed a n0 check, vig, partners with AD and now neighbors with Urist?
He neighborized me n1. Afaik he doesn’t have any other abilities.
if both of them are alive in endgame i’ll worry about it then; i don’t see much point in becomig paranoid or overthinking it right now
why?
i think mantis’ rep-out was kinda townie. i also think red has been kinda townie
-
yeah pretty much, it was a gut reaction for a suggestion that i really didn’t like. idk i guess that’s possible? i guess on some level i’m using ms standards - neighborhoods with people of all different alignments are fairly common so suggesting to lynch people just for being in an neighborhood feels really really wrong to me; it feels like wanting to lynch people for vague role-related reasons instead of on play - but other people (iirc nanook? could be wrong on who it was) seem to think her approach was reasonable? /shrug
i still don’t really like that she’s still poking at ad and his role - my view is basically that if they’re masons we’re incredibly unlikely to have them unflipped in endgame; there’s really no reason to rolefish at this stage; they’ll prob resolve themself and flip sooner before later -
wrt to mantis-weasel-ds - yeah i’ve realized that i was basing my read on ds on the assumption that he was a new player, and that he isn’t, and that it’s kinda fallacious of me to townread him for being genuine in that way, so like i said, the read has gotten less strong. still townreading him for a lot of mindmelding tho
you need to produce a partner (and if one of you flip the other one’s in trouble) + need to explain why you’re alive in endgame and haven’t been nk’d. i don’t think it’s super likely really
i mean, theoretically they want to kill the claimed mason who they suspect is going to be protected or something
i can definitely see the scum utility in it
yes, i’m aware, that has been pointed out to me already and it’s a fair criticism
i think urist is town
i’ve changed my mind on mantis’ slot and i think they’re prob town
still think ds is town too
and i can’t really change my playstyle like that
He’s saying it’s redundant for mafia to be able to target three people; they should only need to target one.
they basically have a privat ethread to talk to each other in (sometimes just at night, sometimes during the day too); the neighbors can be of any alignment
there’s also a role can neighborizer, which can target someone and make a neighborhood with them, which again can be of any alignment
masons are similar to enighbors in that they have a private thread to talk to someone in, but also know that the other people are town
OH
i get it now
yeah that makes sense
Its hard to get into this game when people keep ignoring me. I’m not reading the whole effing thing so some direction would be useful.
Um how do I vote? Is it Vote: Urist
I agree with you on 5. I said as much. I need to read Skitter’s responses to the rest. Your last paragraph though, that’s some interesting shade there - are you saying Skitter is playing worse than you would expect her to be? Damn.
—
Yeah… this is true. I also felt was weird.
—
I made this argument about Skitter in that game that Skitter replaced out, saying that it was the only thing I could perceive as coming from a Scum mindset. I’ll pay attention to this as we move forward. Having anybody this early as a lock Town is difficult, but not necessarily a Scum thing to do (if anything, it calls attention to you, so maybe something you would look to avoid? Difficult to say).
Still not liking this.
—
Why the black and white view? If you’re dealing with uncertainty, then this is not how it works.
Why get pissed off? I agree this is suspicious, but there’s nothing here to get mad about.
—
I think this is a case of confirmation bias if you ask me. I would argue this is more likely from Town than Scum. It depends on the player, sure, but you know where I’m coming from.
—
Mantis might be right, but getting all pissed off about it doesn’t help the Town. Try to think through as to the why, and write it down for others to see. And if you don’t want to continue having the back and forth forever, then at some point just say that you can agree to disagree. Nanook makes the same point in #1157, and I agree.
—
Yeah, not Town reading Mantis’ exit. I maintain that.
—
I responded to the posts after Mantis was replaced by Gtacc I think. Let me read some of the more recent stuff.
Rep out in not alignment indicative. Slot is scummy and still skews kinda scummy even with Gtacc, especially with that fake logic he tried to pass off right there with my role
i’m pretty sure he’s not a native english speaker and i think he misread what you were trying to say
also i think how annoyed she was was kinda townie
I could say something to counter this but I think I’m gonna hold for now
Andres that was in the context of “hey I’m unvoting you so work with me”, even though mantis had been on and off voting me for really bad reasons all game. I’m sorry but I’m not going to work with someone who I think is scum, to me the game doesn’t work like that and it is black and white. If I think you are scum I’m not going to go along and vote with you because I don’t trust you.
The weird thing is Gtacc tried to pull the same move
