I don’t like the suggestion that you are ‘Mason’ looking fo another ‘Mason’ because that implies that you are both town confirmed.
In my experience searching for another is far more often ‘neighbourhood’ and there is no GM confirmed alignment involved.
I could be wrong but am expressing my concern on your reach out and role claim.
I don’t claim that strong a town read on nanook or Andre.

On Meta Andre is being town Andre although I need him to post a lot more.
But it is very early in the game.
Nanook, he is playing very mellow for Nanook, so reading him as town, for now.
Once again it is Meta.

God damnit this was super unnecessary of a claim day one. I would say the other mason should auto claim so we have at least one confirmed town going into day 2, and possibly two if there is a protective role
I agree with cats here. Mason’s don’t play this way. If Dan is mason he just royally screwed the pooch

i think that was a fairly townie post; kinda don’t feel like scum soft-claims that way (ie by announcing in-thread they’re expecting an anonymous someone to be their partner and to like back up the claim. like what happens in two dayphases if nobody backs this up? scum is putting themselves in a pickle here by either forcing a partner to fake-claim too or by not having the partner materialize)
also idk what the role is so i can’t really judge if it will be possible for him to become mod-confirmed town

Masons are a group of players who can speak to each other privately and know that everyone in their group is not a member of the Mafia. Whether the Masons’ ability to privately communicate can be used at any time or at Night only is up to the moderator’s discretion. The number of Masons can vary from game to game, and it is not impossible for there to exist separate Mason groups within the same game.
I am suggesting that claiming Mason is claiming to be town confirmed.
It also seems like a very small game to have masons in.

I am pointing out that the fact they have to go looking for each other is already a deviation of ‘Mason’ I am not familiar with and therefore am not giving them a town clear.
And yes, if ActionDan is a type of Town Mason who has to look for their counterpart they had better hope like hell their partner is Not Scum because if I was a scum partner to a mason and annonoumous I would be very tempted to leave ActionDan hanging out to Dry.
Where as, if I was the Scum Mason I may be tempted to give a shout out and see who Bit.
Don’t know ActionDans meta well enough to know if he would go fishing like this as a mafia member.
to me, masons mean ‘i know the other person is town’
the way ad crumbed/softed/whatever made it sound like once one or the other takes some sort of unidentified action they will each nknow the other is town
on ms at least in non-bastard games masons can’t be scum (ie if you have a mason partner you will know for sure the other person is town cuz the mod said so)

True, but as skitter points out, I can’t see ActionDan making the shout if he did not have role that is “neighbour” or some kind of mafia deviation.
The more I think about it the more I think ActionDan belives what he has claimed even if the role is not clear.

All the games I can think of with “Mason” you were invted to the Mason board with your Role PM.
