Noob question: why is it that sometimes why I reply to a post it automatically quotes it while other times it doesn’t? I’m pressing the same button both times.

Are you selecting any text when you press reply?

When you reply to a post via the reply button it autoquotes when a post is more than 5 posts old.

It doesn’t for posts less than 5 because it becomes more redundant/looking at replies suffices and the quote is just taking up room.
