I am actually totally happy with responding to probes and questions - I think it helps push the game along. So feel free to ask away.
My position did change quickly, yes. But only because I was satisfied with where it lead to. If you think I reached the wrong conclusion, then let me know.
I am in two minds about this point on lurkers Nanook.
I have played with players who habitually lurk as scum.
They get away with it a lot of the time because they are not the players who post much anyway.
I also agree that just as often if not more often you lynch a lurker to find lazy or occupied town.
But you constant arguments about who not to lynch are not taking into account that.
It is Day One
It does take a Lot of votes on One player to Lynch them.
Unless lurking is that players scumtell (sort of like youâŠyour tell isnât exactly lurking, but itâs close enough for the sake of argument)âŠ99% of the time lurking is NAI and reflects the time a player has to spend on the game and nothing else.
still feel like nanook, smilodon, ad-slot has a decent chance of containing more than one scum. just undecided which player in there has the best chance
i havenât seen anything that seems town from either player in that slot yet. could very well be scum but not a read i have extreme confidence in
:fence-sitting:
a. you werenât reiterating anything afaik - the recent summary of the meta reasons is the first time youâd gone into any depth on it, i think. speaking of which, can you give an example of what you mean by ârestraintâ?
I have quickly gone back and looked, but I canât seem to find the actual post. I have it in my notes that Nanook did defend the claim as something Scum would be unlikely to try and pull off, but I just cannot find it right now.
And yes, I make notes about these games as I read, just in case thereâs anything thatâs worth going back to later.
This is ridiculous, and I am not sure if itâs even worth answering. Like, please point to where I said that you should know my explanation before I give it.
The fact that you are still clinging to a meta read even after the amount of posts in this game should make you question your read. Like itâs consistently the same nonsense, and you also seem to be discounting practically everything that Catspurr says or does, and have since very early in the game, which is hard to justify frankly:
This is particularly revealing, I think:
And then, you magically go against your meta read over some frustration about the long day?
And what the hell is this? After you have been trashing Cats almost the entire day.
Oh yeah, of course you go back to it later:
You are not even properly analyzing anything Cats posts, and seem completely convinced that you are right. I donât know if you are or are not, but this just seems particularly arrogant.
Oh and, this isnât the short version, it is the version:
Itâs hard to tangibly define restraintâŠit just feels like thereâs a distance in their thinking/posting, as if theyâre consciously holding back. shrugs itâs a hard thing to define, I donât blame others for not picking up on it, but yeah, thatâs what Iâm seeing. I misread Cats last time we played cause of some claim stuff (that ended up not being his fault), but in hindsight the difference between cats town and scum game was clear as day. Basically, an easy thing to see but a hard thing to explain.
This post for example, looks to me like a way to distance himself from the thread. Itâs the first post that pinged me. Nothing has really changed my mind, I still have this same feeling of distance in their posting.
