i think you are confused about the flavour.
Dax (srceen) is a weird worm thing that lives inside people. The Trill are a single race where a worm thing lives inside a person guy, symbiotically.
In the show, Jadzia Dax is a Trill host/parasite pair.
Jadzia is the host.
Dax is the parasite.
However,
They are still both Trill.

The Pah-Wraiths, on the other hand, are completely different.
They are weird energy beings that live inside of wormholes.
They cannot manipulate our spacetime without possessing someone.
In the show, the Pah-Wraiths possess Dol Gulkat (Nanook) in order to kill Jadzia Dax (srceen).

So the Pah-Wraiths are kinda like ghosts, they can possess people against their will and cannot really be harmed by physical means.
The Trill parasites are actual physical worms. They can be taken out of their host and killed easily.
