Deep Space 9 Mafia - Game Over!

what is your conclusion? does it mean urist is town or scum?

because i think urist is town from those

I think it puts me or urist in a bad light.
Let’s flip a scum today and worry about it tomorrow

Somewhere in Nanook’s ISO he speaks out against the AD lynch for being low in information. This is what I refer to when I say that Nanook was against the AD lynch for bad reasons inconsistent with his behaviour toward the other lurker wagons (i.e. smilodon).

VC 2-8

Cabd: 3 (Anresvmb, Judge Mental, catspurr)
Judge Mental: 2 (Urist, Metal Sonic)
Mantis: 1 (Srceenplay)
Srceenplay: 1 (Mantis)

Not voting: 3 (Josh, pyx, Cabd)

With 10 alive, it takes 6 to lynch.

Deadline: August 25, 2018 4:00 AM

This topic will close automatically 30 minutes after the deadline.

We flip u?

Maybe later.

Who are you guys even talking about here? ActionDan? This is something we need to revisit. Nanook’s certainty that they are both not Scum is screwing with me. Nanook seems to be preparing for a flip of ActionDan as Scum (to cast himself as Town later), which at the time certainly seemed like it might happen (ActionDan had 4 votes, and Nanook had just Unvoted for Cats).

Yeah, you make this point in #962. I just hadn’t gotten to that

Look dude I know you visited a corpse so just tell me why, eh?

You are saying that Metal is potentially responsible for the death of _fferyllt?

UNVOTE: Cabd

CABD and MS both claiming specials?

UNVOTE: CABD

So the sequence between #962, #971, #972, #973, #974, #975 and #977 is essentially Urist and Nanook disagreeing about the value of an ActionDan lynch, with Urist pointing out that Nanook did not defend Josh for being attacked for similar reasons, and Nanook engaging in revisionist history (and saying that he had, but not really).

Nanook again tries to convince Urist that his view of ActionDan is wrong in #1016, since he was getting replaced.

—

Urist calls out Nanook for my Unvote of ActionDan in #1046. And Nanook defends his case against me with this:

And since Urist called him lame, Nanook retorts with the very childish “No u”.

—

Urist addresses Nanook directly in #1106 about Urist’s case on Josh (which Nanook had previously shown interest in). And then argues for lynching Judge should the slot flip Scum.

And Nanook jumps on board? So yeah, Josh is not Scum. Very unlikely from where I sit at least. I will note that I agreed with Urist’s rationale for this in #1125 . So, that’s kind of silly of me?

—

Urist’s #1404 is confusing.

How is it that at this point, Urist you have a Town read of Nanook? Like what? This is concerning. I can’t wrap my head around this post at all. You had been shading Nanook consistently! About all kinds of stuff!

—

This is through #1410. Will keep reading.

—

Side notes:

Nanook not caring about a Josh lynch but coming out to defend “lurkers” in general again casts doubt of the ActionDan / Judge Mental slot. It also probably means that Josh is Town. Also note that Nanook seemed interested in the reasons for Josh being Scum in #977.

Srceenplay throwing shade at Nanook in #981 fits with the overall pattern of shading each other without leading to a vote.

This whole defense of the ActionDan slot by Nanook after #962 could very well be a ploy to then try and lynch Urist when the slot flips Town. So there’s that to consider too.

Random thought: despite the constant attacks from Urist on Nanook, Nanook never attacks back in any sort of meaningful way. Never casts doubt on the slot. And when Urist suggests that they should lynch Josh, Nanook agrees (#1109). Now, Urist could have just been wrong about Josh (I think this is certainly the case now), but this is all rather concerning [I wrote this before reading #1404].

I still dislike Mantis agreeing with Nanook’s meta read of Cats in #1270, and reading him as “Townish” (which gets repeated in #1286).

If we flip Srceen, and Srceen flips Town, the Scum Team probably contains one of {Mantis, Urist}. #1305 reinforces this point. Is Mantis trying to bus Nanook in #1341? Or is that genuine? Seems odd given the Town reads that Mantis was throwing Nanook’s way just earlier.

UNVOTE:CABD

VOTE:METAL SONIC

Another pressure vote Metal.
CABD is claimng you visited _fferyllt.
If you did not visit _fferyllt you need to tell us who you did visit.
OR
If you did vist _ffeyllt you need to explain why.

In the mean time this does not mean I am automatically believing CABD.
They have been close to lynch a few times and could have decided on a fake calim.

But it is probably a bit early for any town investigative roles to out in counter claim.
Although, if it catches cabd in a fake claim maybe not.

I was having trouble finding more interactions between Nanook and Urist! #1487 is Nanook back at it (Nanook urging Urist to vote for Cats). Urist ignores.

—

This is also kind of worrisome. But kind of odd for Scum partners to so obviously agree to a lynch of Town close to the deadline, right?

I hate that you guys seemed so obviously in sync. And again in #1693.

This is just some friendly banter. I would argue NAI.

And that’s the end of D1.

—

Side Notes:

Nanook distancing himself from Judge (and Mantis) here and agreeing with me [ugh].

Nanook also defends Mantis on #1491 (about Mantis following Judge’s progression and voting for Srceenplay), saying that it’s probably NAI (and disagreeing with my stated point of view in #1475).

I town-read Nanook for a few reasons.

  1. He seemed to be contributing a lot despite claiming to be busy near the beginning of the game. It rang similar to the way catspurr, in FlipFlap, said he’d pull back on the spamposting and then failed to do so. The reason this looks town to me is because I know that although Nanook doesn’t lurk as scum, I expected the constant allure of “I have an excuse to lurk and not post today because of what I said at the beginning!” would get to him as scum, especially near day 12-13 of d1. I guess I underestimated how much the guy enjoys playing scum.
  2. It looked like Nanook was open to conversations outside of his tunnel on cats, making him look like town who was convinced of his read, instead of scum tunneling so he doesn’t have to contribute varied reads. I’m talking about #1590, #1489
a lot of stuff with me, as you’ve highlighted.
  3. I’m kind of a sucker for people who agree with me. Nanook was buddying me I suppose, I just didn’t see it til now. I also wanted to lynch a bunch of other people, so Nanook wasn’t really on the radar, even though I was critical of him.

a. Obviously I’m not a mind reader or anything, but I strongly suspect that the reason Nanook didn’t push me back at all is because he had no reason to. I was pretty much universally town-read, so I wasn’t getting lynched. In hindsight, I was also right about a lot of it, so he probably didn’t want to get into the losing side of an argument and draw more attention to himself than he had to. If I were scum with him, he would have at least tried to distance a bit, I think.
b. I don’t really get your point about one of me and Mantis being scum if Srceen is town. Care to explain further?

Do you think that Cabd was trying to distance/bus Nanook?

VOTE: metal

people voting for MS before he even claims are a bit suspect.
