he did; iso doggo “trunks”
So while I do think many of your intentions in this thread have been good, I think you are still very much engaged in the rhetoric of the powerful getting to blame their victims for their failings. “This is how it used to be” is never a good excuse and clinging to it so tightly you might as well be saying that you think Indigenous people’s societies deserved to be burned to the ground and eliminated from existence and for all the conquerors to just live on due to their divine right of kings. I know that this is not what you were saying, I know this is not what you were intending, but your basic logic can only be drawn to this conclusion. Even if you were not intending to frame your argument about anyone “deserving” anything, it does end with white invaders deserving to enjoy their holidays in peace and for indigenous people to suck it up and keep their mouths shut because that’s the way it is, has been, and should continue to be. And that is the kind of logic we should be standing up against.
I also think your history of entire civilizations being burned to the ground itself is somewhat flawed; it’s far from out of the question altogether, but much less common that what you seem to be insinuating. Much more often you see a fallen civilization have its central government replaced but the people themselves stay and live and might mix in with the race of the conqueror. This later event is also largely what happened with Mexico and parts of Central and South America (though this isn’t by any means a statement that is to forgive the damage of colonialism inflicted upon these nations.)
While much of the modern discourse around Canada Day and the Fourth of July is indeed centered around the birth of new governments, the chains in which such sovereignty is claimed also clearly ignore any rights to indigenous people over the land. Recognizing these events as claiming of ownership and sovereignty of land that already was occupied by indigenous peoples is NOT something you should get to so easily write off as being a “yikes” comparison that doesn’t deserve to be made because you happen to think the actual reason for these holidays is not linked to the indigenous voice at all. These holidays and their historic days were created with a white voice at the expense of an indigenous voice, and these events allowed white voices to claim ownership over the land in a much broader sense than any previous land settling enabled.
Looking forward to talking about mafia next, but your post here at #598 I think is really callous and simply supports power systems because they won (or rather because they said they won), not because they were good and just.
we talk about politics instead of the game we’re here for ITT
I missed it. You’re right.
You cod apply damn near anything to be mafia-centric. For example, all these damn VT claims that aren’t picking up on my over 9000 hints
i dont care about your hints. i want mafia dead. i think you are mafia.
We get it, you are against things that hurt people.
Yeah well I’m over 9000% sure that any VT will know what I am if they overview my ISO.
Hey, maybe we should lynch one of these “VT” that don’t get it.
Doggo, I’m going to let you finish, but StarV had one of the best replies of all time!
bring it on
Are you VT? Because if you aren’t, that is all I needed to hear, thanks.
I have no interest in claiming my actual role at this time.
Okay I’m just messing with you. Hey, I appreciate your POV. I think it’s very valid and I agree with your arguments.
Personally, I really did just want to play mafia though - the world is heavy enough and having this space for mindless drivel is not the worst thing. But you guys do you.
Who wanna boolie tn into claiming?
okay but this is a mafia thread
piccolo jr aka dbz piccolo was only bad in DB, not DBZ mostly
I never watched Dragon Ball really, so I can’t say I know much about it. But just from Googling, Piccolo was created as a traditional bad guy no?
Demon King Piccolo is the father of Piccolo Jr. AKA the Piccolo of DBZ.
