I’ll explain why I’m saying that. Strategically, if I’m Scum, and I see my Scum Partner is 1) not contributing and 2) likely to be lynched, I could try and change the direction or try and shade those making the push, but if I fail (and against Chess and Nanook, if you’ve played a few games around here, you know it’ll probably fail), then I don’t want to make it seem like I’m TR that player, or even having him as close to null. If I really believed that Chess/Nanook were a Team and Scum, would I place StarV that far down the list? I genuinely don’t think so. Because then the push is not pure, and that player (despite the inactivity) is most likely Town. In this setup, bussing as a Team literally makes no sense. So I wouldn’t be expecting it at all. That’s what I’m arguing.
its a potential bad shade until he can demonstrate that playing back is something that I do more frequently as scum than as town, which I very much doubt he could ever do because I play back as both alignments with the exception of powerscumming when I feel cornered or powertowning when i only trust myself.
its this insinuation that im doing something scummy without actually substantiating that its something that is actually a scum tell for me that makes it just feel like a shade to me.
I think his impressions are all illogical too. I just think it looks pure. Maybe more on a gut/empathetic level than a rational one.
Do you think him shading you is AI?
Do you think him shading you is AI?
No, Andres can shade me all he wants. I just felt that he wasn’t very interested in my answer, which is something that I feel can be AI.
So do you think his behavior is AI or not? That didn’t really tell me anything.
but if somebody insinuates that I’m scum, without substantiating it, then yes I think I always have the authority to call that out.
It’s not a Scum tell, since I’m Town. It’s not obvious and I’m fine with that, but I’ll say this: I’ll always attack things I don’t agree with. The only self-meta I can give you is that I’m more stubborn as Town.

in a vacuum, yes, I feel like that post was scummy.
Why do you feel the need to qualify it with the phrase “in a vacuum”? Is it scummy in this game or not? Apologies for the pedantry, but I can’t tell what you’re thinking.

Because I don’t trust my read. I feel like Andres is definitely in the bottom pile this game, but I’m trying to get better about not labeling players scum without a high degree of confidence.
You shouldn’t trust your read, since it’s wrong. But whatever, it’s too early in the game for you to know exactly what I am.
I’ll paint the following picture, and you tell me whether it makes sense to you what I’m doing here.
Assume that Chess and Nanook are Town. This assumption is key, but take it as fact for now.
I’m not currently in their stated Town block. I’m at the edge, but I currently don’t sit inside of it. Yet, I have almost locked Chess as Town, and have said that Nanook then follows. Now, you know that Chess has decently reliable reads, and Nanook isn’t half bad either. If I am Scum, what’s the benefit of trying to agree with what they’re saying? Either 1) they’re wrong and one or two of my Scum buddies are in that group, or 2) I’m trying to sit in that block myself. Do you think I’m doing 2? I would argue that I’m not (I haven’t had enough time to read through the game carefully enough). So then, I must be doing 1. How likely do you think it is that they both have at least 1 Scum, if not 2, in that group they’re calling the Town core if they’re both Town?
Now, you’re alternative theory could be that the Team is exactly Nanook, Chess and me. Does that seem likely to you?
So, either I’m playing less than optimal as Scum, or I’m giving you my honest opinions and I’m Town. You make the call.
Nobody asked, but I really want to flip either Cavin or M2H. Their play is very rigid. I don’t feel like they’re comfortable engaging naturally with the town.
StarV is a better push to clear Chess. We can run through the POE he’s built from there and frankly almost always win the game.
I still really don’t understand how any of those things follow from eachother. I’m really out of touch with how Chess and Nanook are playing and I don’t understand why everyone holds so much confidence in it.
What if he gets NKed? Do you view his d1 reads as so infallible that we’ll instantly win? Is the pool already that small?
I have played… 43 games in this site. A chunk of them have been with Chess and Nanook. I actually know Chess. They’ve built a reputation and I have some solid history with them as both alignments. Chess would not make a definitive push as Town if he didn’t have a real solid view. And I really do think he tends to get it right. Also, StarV does not represent a weak spot (I would argue that he tends to misread Elli early, but that’s about it).
So yeah, if he’s saying StarV is Scum, and I have a TR on Chess, though I don’t like to play lazy (and you can look through the site to get a sense for how I play), I will take the shortcut and get through D1.
If he gets NK’ed, I would take some of his top TR’s to the bank.
