kinda was actually
Youre not obvious.
Not the type to metadive for people I may never play with again.
Tbf to TN this is probably how a chess/Nanook scum team would play.
That said.
We aren’t scum and I think there are enough reasons to independently TR us that we should both be TR.

im mostly sheeping elli’s mafia philosophy here but I think trying to lock as many people town as soon as possible so you can just play by POE is a good goal, but at the very least whenever I try to do it my cores are always moled. plus if you go for townhunting over scumhunting you get baited into thinking “well I was all right except one or two people” when really that just means your reads were completely random.
I agree with you, but you aren’t really doing much to the opposite effect (pushing scumreads or cases).

I don’t think anyone could play it off that well. Your reasoning for flipping Star being that Chess will start listening to your reads if you flip his incorrect scumread isn’t something I’d ever think to make up as scum partners in a million years. It makes sense if you’re scum and he’s town and you’re trying to manipulate him, but I would never consider that theater.
It frustrates me when people don’t look at things like that.
Is the mason thing a real claim or not? I got Vanilla Town, and the Vanilla part is making me wonder if there are non Vanillas in this setup.
It is mountainous. People often fakeclaim masons as a joke in these forum games when they TR eachother.
I mean sure, I agree there are reasons to think we’re not partners and I think independent reasons to TR both of us, but I also think from a paranoid tn POV it’s not, like, totally and completely unreasonable.
It’s as real as you want it to be, but it ain’t no joke.
I tend not to. If I’m the one leading the charge in the village, we’ve probably already lost. I win a lot more games when I play back a little bit and just question other players and try to work through the game that way.
Anything can make sense if you’re paranoid. We have no reason for paranoia. That’s why it’s characterized as tinfoil.
Think tinfoil is harsh tbh.
Why? You’re giving credence to an absurd theory that would make you scum. And you would be right to respond to it with indignation, and I think you know it. What are you gaining from hearing it out when it can’t even be true FYPOV?
Someone being wrong =/= someone being scum.
Mostly I’m arguing it’s not a reason to ignore tn or to scumread him.
Also I like playing devil’s advocate sometimes

Yeah, I am the same way. I am not the person who should ever be leading the charge.

When I said you were pushing tinfoil theories, I’m responding to you saying that chess/nanook and cavin/engravings teams are viable. That position is absolutely ludicrous and it should be self-evident as to why.
I disagree. If there were solid reasons to town read you, I’d probably be town reading you right now. But the closest out of my PoE to being townread is Cavin, not yourself.

I think how the game has played out can’t be construed as theatre.
Care to substantiate this statement?

but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to consider that one scum may be there. To consider that two scum may be there? Not a chance.
I think it’s eminently reasonable that they could both be scum. It is precisely because of your reaction, and the reactions of others, that I believe it possible.

In white flag, it’s utterly pointless to spread the sentiment that people are masterminding the game. We have the privilege of not worrying about that, so there are more productive things to talk about. Especially on day 1.
It’s like you WANT me to scumread you.

You read me as not immediately questioning why you scumread me as me “carefully skirting around” it. I actually read your wall of quotes and understand why you scumread me. I think it’s misguided and I think you’re overlooking the fact that Cavin’s interactions with me today should be painting him as the more reasonable lynch, but I just thought I had better things to do than worry about a single scumread on me. I’m not the defensive type.
This is in no way a town reaction. If you’re town and think I’m town, shouldn’t your goal be to show me that you’re town? More townreads = Smaller PoE

It’s annoying that you feel it’s fair that you can pick and choose what you respond to, but when I do it I’m skirting around the issue. I asked you twice or thrice to substantiate your reads much earlier in the game and you didn’t respond to me at all, and I’m not bringing it up to villify you.
A reasonable individual understands that rhetorical questions do not need to be responded to. If I have missed something that I consider rhetorical, but you do not, please let me know so I can reduce your attack vector further.

Someone being wrong =/= someone being scum.

When did I advocate for either of those?

Just realize we have finite time and finite arguments we can have. I consider that antitown.

Decision paralysis is common, but just realize that if you aren’t going to be proactive, you aren’t going to stop them from steamrolling the game with their PoE strategy.

Just realize we have finite time and finite arguments we can have. I consider that antitown.
You can consider it your grandmother, not gonna change me doing it when I feel it’s beneficial
