That’s not technically true because of the lightning bolt. I cant give myself an invention but the lightning bolt if I was targeted by it means I would give myself the invention which I can’t do any other way. If that applies to me then it should apply to other things that wouldn’t apply normally. An assumption I guess. You realize regardless of Urist’s alignment he did target himself with his power according to what Josh claimed.
If josh saw urist target himself that means urist wasn’t rb and the means new had to have healed them.
