maybe hosting audio files externally?

https://clyp.it/ : haven’t tried it - free version is limited to 360 minutes and requires account, but you can record directly to the website

https://vocaroo.com/ : recordings are saved for an unknown amount of time, they say potentially a few months, recording onsite doesn’t seem to be available on my phone due to unsupported plugin so it might just go back to “where tf does my phone save my recordings”

I just picked the top two google results so other people might know of better-suited options.

I was going that route because you were talking youtube hosting, using an external website for audio would have pretty much the same process

hmm.

I guess hitting youtube app button vs. going to whatever browser and going to a link seemed to be significantly less work.

the recording option is only in threads where it is verified to be in the thread
meaning it is not in every thread

whats wrong with letting people record everywhere if we implement that.
it’s sorta like how we have the votecount button everywhere.

yeah okay. we’ll figure out something and try a test of run of this late april/early may. Need to find something that gives us links that onebox on site.
