@catspurr trying to mislynch me is never a good move too, especially here where I had 0 incentive to play D1 like I did as scum.
I think knowing the identity of the scum will make that a lot less hard, cause coupled with the ability to freeze the day at any point, that’s a pretty powerful weapon.

- Vote obvtown
- End day
Thanks to plurality lynches, the game would go to d4 with you, scum and town. Then it’s just a matter of mislynching the last townie in lylo.
The problem is hes still in a kingmaker even with perfect play
The Colonel is a role that, played well and with a scum team that isn’t swept, can almost guarantee themselves a trip to LYLO. From there it comes down to skill, but I don’t think you can ask for more than a fair chance to get to LYLO (and not be mechanically caught once there) as any minority faction.
(I’m not saying Katsuki played it poorly, to be clear—she had horrible luck with the town sweeping, and there wasn’t much she could do about it without seriously sticking her neck out.)

that’s the problem with survivor roles, you’re entirely at the mercy of the rest of the players.

Well it depends, survivor roles are fine when you don’t have to force a LYLO situation IMO. I’ve won a variant where I had to keep certain players alive in addition to myself.
The challenge with this variant is that you’re playing for different sides in a game (mafia) that doesn’t support that type of gameplay easily. One of my favorite games has a traitor role where you have to kill everyone and then the king last to win, but rarely do traitors ever win.
