Yeah, I recognized what it did. Just wasn’t as sure that I wanted it for this game. I think if I was pre-writing certain posts, then maybe.
Also, if you run this again, I’ll totally play it.
It’s useful from the player perspective to have a day timer at the bottom of the topic, and the topic locking makes it clearer to them when the day has run out of time even if the host wasn’t online right at that moment.
Then when you get online you can make your day end post and put a timer for daystart, then when it’s time to start the day you can make a daystart post and open the topic manually.
Allowing people to sometimes talk and vote beyond the end of the day you’ve set because they don’t know if it’s ended is kind of messy, I’m not sure what advantages it has. What would prewriting posts change for you?
That’s fair. I mostly just went with what I was used to doing, which included a Twilight phase as a last moment to submit actions, sometimes even relevant (e.g. Governor). But it’s definitely more reasonable to shut the thread on a timer.
Also, if you run this again, I’ll totally play it.
I may run one of the other games in the series first.
The OG is still the best designed.
