Hear the chorus of harps
I considered that during game design. At one point it was going to be basically two town factions, each with a mason group and other uninformed members, and one member of each mason group would be in a neighborhood with each other to decide the NK between them. I didn’t feel like that worked great, but it led to the idea of a NK controlled by both teams.
Which, side note, probably should’ve led to scum via setup spec when it was revealed that the NK wasn’t solely controlled by scum (or it was very unlikely to be from an uninformed Demon POV at least).
Forced 1v1s from the beginning are just blech
I’ll make you a shitty photoshop harp trophy.
Like if we are both town then at least it’s designed chaos instead of like designed haha u rolled scum in the hood that clearly has scum in it
But otherwise the setup was dope
Well also fuck u guys and your nonexistent riddle true meaning deciphering attempts
In hindsight I wish i had transferred dead angels powers into group powers when they died.
I don’t think that the DEs were a forced 1v1 by necessity, but what I should’ve done was give the ratio of players in thread excluding the DEs, to make it a bit more opaque, I think.
Yeah, I hear ya. I’ll probably use a version of this mechanic again sometime where it is TT.
This coulda worked
Yeah, I think saying “it’s 9/4” made it a bit too likely that there was scum in the DE, but saying “8/3” in thread it’s entirely possible for both DE to be demons.
I agree with this, I think it’s fine, but you have to commit to it not just sort of halfass “his role happened so he’s town,” that’s lazy and bad.
Like, when you were adamant early that I wouldn’t make a flipless game, that was spot on, the flips were just nonstandard. I would never design a totally flipless game.
Eh, I think town has a chance to win still if they stop being stupid for a minute. They’re being dumb now, but without a traditional NK to get screen or Dusk out of the game, it’s harder for Dan to pull this out. Cause it’s tough to sell either of them as scum I think, if town is thinking about things. We’ll see!
go angels!
I think I’d probably take out the Twilight phase too, it didn’t quite work as well as I’d hoped. Probably a mechanic I’ll reuse sometime, but I think the game probably needs to be built around it more for it to not just be annoying.
The memeing about 8hr day 72 hr night has been hilarious tho
Also I have a serious issue with the player that accused me of game throwing (I think it was Duskfall)
