Stormy Seas (NSIMI Game A)

I do not see it. What makes you interpret it that way?

What in tarnation does ā€œdaylilyā€ mean?

@Nanook ping @kimpossible?

FUCKING HELL. Iā€™m here now. I am in another game on a different site and I didnā€™t realize the thread had opened. And am I in two games? Okay, no, Iā€™m not in that game, I just got @'ed in it by Chesskid. Got it.

Okay. Chesskid and I are not exactly masons, weā€™re neighbors. But I wasnā€™t sure coming in what that meant for our alignments, so I asked if that meant we were both town. He said the usual townie thing here is to scumread your neighbor, which I think is a little odd since if thatā€™s the known meta then scum are just going to scumread their neighbor to look townie, but sure. In any case, he scoped me out on PlayDip, complained about phpbb, and currently seems okay with believing Iā€™m town.

So in that sense yeah, we have some cross-game communication.

Let me catch up now and Iā€™ll type more things.

Ehh I opened by saying Iā€™m not reading the other game. And we already had 1 cross-game mason claim. So Iā€™m believing itā€™s the same until told otherwise.

I did not talk shit about your teammates. Post game I literally PMed you saying that your day 1 behavior towards me hurt you more than helped because I was trying to give you advice and then you went on a tirade against me claiming that your game was perfect and you always had me fooled  Your teammates carried you. I get you did what they told you to do, but you day 1 was still really bad.

What? Someone whoā€™s familiar with games here wanna talk about what a Neighbor is and what distinguishes that role from a Mason?

@DoggoPlays give me reads on players in this game so far right now, go go go.

Masons know each other are town. Neighbors have a chat but are not informed of each otherā€™s alignment. Iā€™ve never been either in a capacity that lasted longer than maybe 10 minutes (i.e. live games) so it didnā€™t really stick with me when I first jumped into the neighbor chat with Chess.

I still havenā€™t found where any of the rules reference scum choosing which game they got to be in. I feel desperately behind. My queries on how many scum we have overall have yielded answers of ā€œAt least one per gameā€ which is less than helpful. Where did you guys find that info about scum choosing which game they were in?

K, Iā€™m caught up with my reading of this thread. has there been anything important in the other thread? Are we expected to read both threads?

Why everyone? I donā€™t think weā€™ve ever played together, what makes you think Iā€™d be >rand readable to you?

I expect to get a decent read on UFO sooner or later, though sometimes it takes us fighting like cats and dogs for a day before we figure each other out. Fatmo Iā€™m less good at but hopefully Iā€™ll be able to readā€¦ I almost had him once and I let go of what I should have paid attention to.

Though I donā€™t know right now how having so many new people in the game will affect my ability to read either of them. Thereā€™s so much context you build from playing with people over time and observing not only your relationship with them, but also theirs with other people.

I like this Elli person, fwiw.

You and Ellibereth both talk in an incredibly stuffy way and I tend to be wary of that just because from my experience the people who talk this way have very very similar town/scum games or just huge game attitude cohesion in general. Like everything both of you say sounds like youā€™re rehearsing lines.

Kimā€™s new claims seem interesting, need time to process those.

In one million percent of games, m2h will always townread me, regardless of his alignment or mine. which is to say everyone else should ignore everything he says about me.

That said the way heā€™s responded to me DOESNā€™T sound rehearsed, so thatā€™s at least a smol town cookie but I donā€™t put much stock into it at this point.

UFO and fatmo seem like cool people but no alignment read on them yet.

Day 1 unless someone does something super noticeable my reads are going to be unsure or just character observations without express alignment leanings.

What exactly do you mean by ā€œgo and correctā€? A read can be wrong early and then be changed later. Are you saying you spend time later in the game explaining those early reads? If so, is that at other peopleā€™s request, or because you just feel like you should?

This interpretation seems super weird and I was very confused by where you were pulling some imaginary mason claim by Elli out of. My immediate assumption was ā€œElli is reading the other game and wants to share a read on someone there.ā€ Like, nothing about the wording here makes me think itā€™s a mason claim. Is this based on your previous experience with Ellibereth or something?

Do you intend to read it?

Okay, Iā€™m caught up. Iā€™m clearly utterly failing at properly threading my replies, for which I apologize. Iā€™ll try to figure it out better. At least I figured out how to quote stuff.

I also finally found in the opening post where it says the scum assigned themselves to the games. Again, sorryā€¦ I got panicked over catching up.

Iā€™m not at all sure why Chess decided to represent our chat as a Mason group since we donā€™t definitively know each otherā€™s alignments. We have to try to read each other just like we would any other player.

I like Slooneiā€™s play so far. M2H seems timid, and if I was playing live, Iā€™d probably choose (him? her?) for the lynch based on that. I like Elliā€™s kinda-give-no-fucks style. Nothing pings me yet about UFO or Fatmo, though ā€œUFO thinking something dumb and me calling him out for itā€ is pretty standard for us as townies. I donā€™t know on Doggo yet.

This is odd. Why would chess declare you town if this is the case?

rhetorical question for the thread. iā€™m not expecting you to provide an answer or anything.

hi hi, itā€™s in the OP.

ā€œThe scum assigned their members to each gameā€“I assigned alignments, then the scum team determined which of them would be in which game. This was done without knowledge of town distribution.ā€ ā€”> scum each picked A or B to join

ā€œIf a game reaches parity or there are no scum alive at the start of a day or night phase, that game ends and the players in it are done playing.ā€ ā€”> there must be at least 1 scum in a game (plus I think I asked nanook this more directly and he confirmed)
