I mean yeah there’s a balance that I strongly err towards one side of. Just in general I think having a few correct things consistently with no incorrect things tends to be perceived to be higher threat than more correct things with some incorrect ones.
I think people typically scum read people they don’t understand, and spewing incorrect information is generally a means through which that’s achieved.
That’s bad play though.
I gotta be honest with you - when I see people not making sense, in the absence of other information, I TR it.
I tried a lot of stuff and what I do now as town is what I ended up thinking works best most of the time.
Right, but then in a good player list, the player who only voices confident reads becomes pretty useless. The issue is we’ve never achieved a player list that is good at both town and scum.
why? it depends on their history of accuracy yes?
I think it definitely works for you. I can’t say I find that it works for most people, or that I find it effective when other people do it. Josh might be the other exception. Chess’ abrasive style is also effective I think. He’s slightly harder to TR though.
I think scum is just harder because everyone really needs to be on point all the time
I mean, assuming a game where everyone is capable of playing town/scum effectively, I feel like your approach diminishes… Though effectively that’s 0% of games, so I don’t know what I’m getting at.
Ah I get what you’re saying - my approach is almost exclusively at catching the scum that fucks up d1 and then put their buddies in the awkward spot of having to choose between bussing or defending.
When noone "fucks up’ d1 from my pov it’s hard yeah but when that happens I try to be up front about it and just defer to someone who i think is better at reading those types of situations (did this with josh a few times).
honestly the burden of proof for showing that the town approach is wrong is on the scumside getting better yeah?
I honestly tried this game but its really fucking hard zzzzzzzzzzzz
like maybe I should have tried to get someone mislynched earlier instead of so late? Once m2h was the leading candidate the situation was incredibly awkward.
You also took way too damn long to utter a read haha
Yeah, I mean, once M2H was the lead, you should have bussed.
Though, the optimal situation would have been to form the counter wagon once a town target was about to get lynched I think.
I agree with this.
i thought probabilistically town fucks up d1 but nope zzzzzz
You could have told your buddies to just pressure Dusk and see if that works.
yes I agree that would have been ideal but I think at least here the onus is on scum to makes sure the town wagon happens…while it’s easy to fall into the habit of hoping scum fucks up
I just didn’t understand the weird swap to sock, like there was a moment where there wasn’t bother train with three votes should have stuck with that one
And then you remain undecided. It wouldn’t have helped TR you but you don’t get so much pressure. And then you pull this stunt D3 or something.
