You are claiming to be playing in a completely anti-Town way for “ranking” or “selfish” reasons, making it harder for others to read you correctly if you are in fact Town. Why would you think that your argument would sway me at all?
And no we clearly don’t view the way to gain elo in the same way at all. I am actually trying to help Town even when it might hurt me in the short-term, because I strongly believe that it’s correct to behave this way in the long-term. I have demonstrated this by clearing myself in a game where the vote was a real 50/50, when I could have simply invited suspicion and tried to divert away from the true play that wins the game.
So yeah, if you are Town, I resent this as a strategy, and I’m not convinced that I should be relying on this silly argument to change my view on you.

This is also completely false btw. Being the last vote doesn’t stop the wagon from swinging against you at all. It simply means you are holding the hammer until the very last minute. If a majority is satisfied that you’re Scum, you will flip eventually even if you haven’t voted. So give me a break.

I am beginning to develop serious reservations about a ranking system that seems to be inviting this level of gamesmanship and anti-Town behavior btw. You don’t even have to believe anything that Urist is saying to see that the allure of points is making people vote later, share less and closer towards the end of the day, all so that they individually benefit (to the detriment of other players).
