I just read through the first day and a half of your marked for death iso and as I thought I remembered it’s much less fluff and much more…wait for it…brace yourselves…solvy.

Like “I want to town core you” versus “your bitching looks disingenuous.”
That seems just intuitively:
1.To be sending mixed signals: how can I be town and disingenuous? To be town is to be genuine.
2. Not a useful critique for a townie you are trying to correct: how does one make themself to appear more genuine?
3. Harmful to oneself if the other person is scum as it is basically giving them an opportunity to change approaches.

Because this angle you are taking on my slot is making my read on you a lot more shaky. You should already be able to read me town here if I’m being honest. What you are doing here seems a lot less like “giving me a chance” and a whole lot more like “trying to set up a future mislynch” and after the fact you would justify that by saying that I was playing poorly. 
Are you seriously going to argue that insisting that I’m disingenuous while also saying you want to town core me is a strong position to be arguing for yeah?
and this is also incredibly frustrating fmpov because I really wanted to give you and chess the benefit of the doubt and now it seems like one of the three following things are going to happen;
1.) you are scum in which case it’s going to be hard to lynch you here as me
2.) you are town and will find me later, but I’m going to have to deal with a lot more paranoia than I would otherwise.
3.) you are town and don’t find me later which would basically lead to us letting scum win.
I find that this is what happens when Nanook is put in a position of power and/or on a pedestal which implies he is in a position to “give out townreads”. Sure, he is ranked 1 in the early rankings, but I don’t suppose that “seeking his approval” should be the goal of your play - I suppose it’s this attitude that’s making you frustrated. Think about it this way - work together with everyone else, and if Nanook decides to see you as town, and we win, good. If he doesn’t, it’s his ranking that is penalized, not yours. Don’t stress too much about it.

I believe I need to focus on sorting: Gtacc, Urist, JakeTheWolfie and StarV. Those are the players of interest for me now.

You’re right. I honestly probably sabotage myself a bit when I get pressured like this. I love the sense of freedom that I get when I get town read by influential players in that at that point I don’t have to stress about how I’m being received anymore. Getting pressured like this, in addition to making my reads shakier, kinda shifts my mindset in a way that doesn’t really help me.

That might have been his intention. Pressuring players often is a reliable way to obtain reactions and for certain players to read others. Unfortunately, sometimes it may lead to unintended effects and counterproductive consequences.
In any case, if we want to do our best in this ranked game, we need to be in the right headspace. So, don’t stress too much about it.

i went back and read arsonists and this doesn’t feel like the same scum game nanook used then, but at the same time nanook has prob developed since last year.
atp im kinda leaning towards Nanook just getting paranoid on my slot as a result of the stakes I suppose. Kinda waiting for @chesskid3’s opinion on that.
