Well, the issue is, mafia is a broken game to begin with. If one player gets so much better than everyone else, that player needs to downplay their ability as at least one alignment in order to be permitted to continue playing.

Like, it’s a pastime more than it is a serious game.

Hmm, I see what you’re saying, but I think there’s a line between Mafia and other games. Other games, you’ll just have different groups for different occasions whereas Mafia is the game you break out when everyone is there and then the better players are just killed instantly.
