You are allowed to say it whenever you want. And I am allowed to call it out when I don’t think it’s warranted. And having a strategy that is not optimal is clearly not Scummy the vast majority of the time. If anything, showing a willingness to present a strategy is Towny.

I’ll put it this way - opening yourself up for criticism by suggesting ways in which you think a game can be solved (outside of reading people, which is the hardest part) is always Townier than simply throwing rocks at someone else’s ideas (which I love to do). Only when the strategy is decidedly anti-Town (particularly when people should know better) will I agree with the comment that it’s Scummy. I’m not saying btw that Star doesn’t know better - I’m saying that the strategy is flawed, but is not anti-Town in any obvious way. Also, it opens you up for a fair amount of associative tells if you actually flip Scum, which why would you do so blatantly? Not saying there’s not terrible Scum out there, but it just seems unnecessary.

If you’re in the Speakeasy, post that shit there. Come up with an amazing sob story. If you’re not in the speakeasy, post in General Discussion about a tragedy you need help coping with. Ask for advice. And for D1 (and D2 depending on how long D1 lasts
but we can evaluate that at a later point) you’re going to be busy. You’ll post occasionally and you don’t want to replace out of this game because it’s only the first couple phases and you’re really excited to see how it turns out.

With this, you become our gambit. There is no way anyone lynches the person going through a tragedy. Don’t post immediately at the start of the phase. Wait like a day.

I think it’s pretty hard to command respect in your town game if you never justify yourself, it’s so easy to fake as scum which we saw in the last ranked game.
