Yea I was a vig too so I asked lots of questions about that.
I think it was probably random which shot got refunded. I was told that if another action at night caused my preferred target to die, I’d just get my shot back and have to use it next night.
Twas not necessarily random! If a vig overlapped with a NK they got their shot back, if they overlapped shots with a vig that also died that night (the Gtacc special), the living vig got their shot back. Otherwise it was random (JJJ and Star N1, for example).
at least scum didn’t get refunded their kill on me 
I like how theoretically close this could still be despite how things played out.
I think a game where town have TKed scum every day (and shot two at night!) and scum still have a chance is pretty reasonable.
