If I was scum, I would pick n3 vigilante because I know I would have to live that long in order to win.

I didn’t pick it because I’m town and there’s no way in hell I’m living that long, and if by some miracle I do, I can roleblock the vigil.

And yeah, no, you have to keep it out of scum hands. Do the math:

D1 kill scum, N1 successful NK, 5/1

D2 mis-kill, N2 successful NK, 3/1

D3 mis-kill, 2/1

If town has the vigi shot, they don’t auto-lose. If scum has the vigi shot, they get minimum one kill in, and if they were prevented from killing earlier, it gives them the win.

Town has to take the vigi if they see it to make sure scum doesn’t. It’s not as useful for town as for scum, but it’s too powerful for scum to let them get their grubby little hands on it.

Tbh, that’s kinda why I suspect there’s scum in the three picks before me. Feels like the sort of thing scum might see and think “naw, too much chance I’m auto-killed.”
