This group often has a couple of folks who will claim Mafia on a regular basis, usually for an @EricKline goodie, as a joke. There was one player that would do that the whole time as a strategy until we voted him out D1 too many times.

Who’d believe a mafia member claiming mafia? That’s certain daykill to do that.
Of course, if you go too far with that line of thought, then you get WIFOM (they claimed mafia so they must be town, but if they’re mafia they’ll know that that’s what the town will think so they might be mafia anyways).
Personally, I don’t claim at all. Been burned too many times.
