Would not mind a bit of feedback on my “hoth communications command” (neighborhood) set up and how to improve that system.

For the members who have not joined our ranks here is the set up-

Welcome to Hoth Communications Command.

You have been selected here on the basis of your personal unique skill sets and to ratify your integration into our program I would need you to answer a couple of questions below.

  1. What would you claim if the empire had you at point of death? (No number designation required)

1b. If this claim is one of a nonspecific nature then what was your attempted designation with the republic?

  1. What are your views on the three people mentioned in the final post in this channel at the moment?
  2. Is there any other specific information at this time that would be paramount to the existence of the republic that you wish to disclose to us? (e.g. Death Star plans, locations of empire leaders)
  3. This will not be the last of the questions.

Once these questions have been answered you are free to communicate with the other members of our staff.

Hoth Communications Command Secret Code

Any specific information/realization that would be needed to signaled to the command crew during the day can be done so with the access code of HCC (hoth communications command) within the desired post that contains said information. An example of the implementation of said code could be “hydrogen catalytic converters” or “heavy couldn’t carry” or any other combination would be received by command. These codes will reset each night to a different alphanumeric signature. An in thread post example of this is post 18 where the code SBS was used when saying “slippers, blanket, sweater” was used and the “and” in the list was forgotten from the list to have the signal used.

Okay I guess - my rationale for what went into that was to try to get the some information out of each member to tie them to people for the possibility that if one of the members were to be outed as maf that I would have leads that they would more telling from that. (Basically an insurance policy to get something out of it if I did mess up and add maf). Then with the code I wanted something that was quite easily identified but fit within the context of plain text in the thread (for rules sake) but also (and I went back and forth on this) one that would not allow for members of the neighborhood to only be vetted in there opinions by other members. (So any reads would still have to be public). That lead to the three letter signal code to identity posts that would be deemed important and worth you personally looking into that point which was mentioned.

I did have an alternative that did allow those silent pushes but also did use that three letter signal code. This is that

Example sentence:

To form orderly chaos you must include Player X and player Y.

Interpretation

  • first letter would say weather this was a town read, maf read, or an middle read. (Denoted by the first letter T,M,N (town, maf, neutral) -those three letters would change nightly
  • three letter signal code would still in affect and as used above being (FOC) - that code will also change nightly
  • then the players mentioned within the sentence would be of who the read is for.

Why have them change? - to avoid people picking up on the fact that the off topic bits of members posts were behaving in a similar manner. (An pick up who were members by the consistent use of the same key words)
