On one hand, it doesn’t make much sense at all for arete to fake clams doc in that situation (if was to fake claim, it really shoulda been pardoner)
On the other, I’m inclined to believe this convoluted, terrible story. Somehow.

Because at that night I was at my Grandma’s working on school and my parents have my phone set so I have no web access on it, so I used slack to message him for my night actions because it was the only possible answer to that situation. However I saw his messaged later than he had listed to complete the night action, so that’s likely why I never got an answer
God why is it I have such a hard time writing complete, reasonable sentences for this godforsaken game.
Scum!arete, being pressed like he was d2, had reasonable reason to fake claim SOMETHING to save himself.
Unless another town is withholding information from us, we can be sure in the idea that scum has the pardoner/vet pr. In this case, arete would have been best off claiming the roll they KNEW scum had.
Now! It is possible that catty had doc roll, but in this case Arete would have been MAD to claim the doc when he could claimed pardoner and probably gotten the same result (with no risk of CC).
On the flip side, arete has no insentive NOT use doc if scumteam had doc.
So, that is the evidence in favor of catty being a lier.
