Why should we lynch someone you think is town? If we hit any scum, then the game becomes exponentionally easier, but you’re basically suggesting that “nah, let’s just fuck around and kill town.”

A scum lynch here is always optimal over a town one, because the game goes from being “find the random scum!” to being “find the stone-set scum.”
