I’ve ingrained myself with the old act of quoting so much that now I’m accidentally double quoting things since it pulls it itself
maybe we’ll remove it when we fix how the “post replied to” button works on mobile but until then I think not having a quote hurts too much.
The thing that irks me most about the auto quote thing is how it formats the text in the reply window
you mean the <p> tags?
Is that just a visual peeve? There shouldn’t be any difference in the result.
I’m not saying it’s wrong or bad, tbh it’s probably good overall to take that choice away…it just…bugs me.
i like the change. it’s good for mobile users where quoting is hard AND looking at the post the person is replying to is hard

No it’s especially people on desktop that forget to quote.
Can we have an option to disable it

reply behavior is shitty on mobile atm, it’s the main thing we’re working on atm in terms of upgrades forum-side.
Like I said we may remove this after that’s better.
Fwiw I mostly use mobile and have no issue with it
