Right, but like, isnāt that more likely townie bad plan as opposed to devious scum plan? Or at least as likely?
As town we can play cold hearted hard ball.
As long as it is early enough in the game to sort them.
thatās literally never how iād approach that
can we all just move the discussion away from the very obvious true mason claim and onto who is scum? Because I really donāt have much of an idea, but this doesnāt help me.
And honestlyā¦Iām not really convinced AD is actually what heās claiming!
Itās funny - I have yet to see him making these sorts of claims as Scum. Now that I am on the other side, it feels kind of weird.
ā
It might have something to do with the fact that Erika put me into a small group that might contain Scum, but I agree with the first part of your statement. I have a negative lean there, and not a big fan of the explanation for the vote on Cats by stating that they are easier to read. If this were to actually be the case, then you would just wait, let them incriminate yourself in a way you can argue for, and then scream for their lynch. Thereās a big caveat here, and it is something that I was hoping Nanook would bring up (given that he relied on this for a suspect meta read to almost lynch his own Scum partner in DS9) - Cats actually seems like he is holding back a bit from posting a lot. Not indicative of much yet, just something I noticed. This is quite opposite to what Mantis seems to be doing here early (even going as far as to say that they need to stop), which is whatās holding me back from voting there. Perhaps this is a bit silly, but posting a lot early as Scum is an easy way of incriminating yourself (or giving too much away), and so I always tend to have positive leans on people that seem to be putting their reads and thoughts out there. This does not work with the notorious lurkers (like ActionDan), but overall it seems to be better than random.
ā
Also, @Nanook you want to know why else I formed a snap read the way that I did? It has to do with the fact that you seem to relish playing Scum in a way that you donāt when playing Town. So your posts seem more filled with energy/enthusiasm when you (i) like the setup or (ii) are Scum. This low key style might be a different approach to playing Scum, but for some reason I just do not think it is. Now that I have revealed this, I obviously canāt use it in future games that we play together, but I just thought it would help explain where I was coming from here.
ā
I have formed Scum reads on other players based on the fact that they voted me, so this is fair enough.
ā
Mantis I donāt like this - you seem to be trying to get back into DSā good side by talking about something unrelated to the game itself, almost as if DS has the right read of you. I am not saying that this is the case - just that somebody could easily interpret it in that way.
ā
I am in agreement with Nanook and DS here - this is incredibly unlikely. It might come from a place of frustration to being read wrongly @Mantis, but this does not help to create a positive impression.
ā
I understand that this is simply a follow up to a view that had already been formed, but the wording is interesting. You could have asked about what is driving DSā seemingly strong view of Skitter as Town, and waited to see what DS had to say about that. Instead, you asked about whether DS had doubts about Skitter being Town. Now, you know as well as I do (if not more so) - Town can never be sure of anything. Even things that seem like a certainty are not (unless confirmed by a flip or the Mod). So you would know that D1 and early, surely DS is not sure about the read. But this isnāt what you asked, and it is giving me bad vibes.
ā
This could easily be Mantis bussing Erika.
ā
The more I re-read this game, the more that I think that thereās something here.
ā
I will continue catching up and post some more thoughts. Sorry for taking so long.
idk
feels scummy to me. like it feels like looking for mislynches for really meh ??? reasoning
8/10 times neighbors are wolf/villa. Change my mind.
edit: wolf/villa
This sentence reads to me like a scum claim, but I assume thatās not what you meant. Clarify please?
On the other side of the fake claim. For clarity.
i canāt without like manually checking loads of ms normals
which i highly highly doubt iām going to do
Thatāsā¦actually, thatās probably not a horrible tone read of me. I dunno if itās accurate or not, but it feels like it might be? Probably not useful for the future now that Iām aware of it lol, but I can appreciate how you might make that read here.
meh you can be town too for now
Butā¦I meanā¦in a world where Cats is scum and AD is actual honest to god masons with someoneā¦once we lynched one and saw their role flipā¦we just blindly go along and lynch the other one just for the heck of it? Like, the only way this makes sense to me from a scumCats POV is if their partner is in trouble, which would mean Mantisā¦but Mantis aināt in so much trouble that sheād need saving here as scum.
And thatās even if AD is an honest to god mason, which I tend to think he isnāt at this point.
Gotcha. I was pretty sure you werenāt scum claiming there
Cats meant in the case that they are neighbors aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Thatās what Iām getting at!
āFrom a scum pov itās a good idea to suggest lynching a second mason after the first flipsā thought no one ever.
