Deep Space 9 Mafia - Game Over!

et tu Brutus?

What’s changed?

That doesn’t feel towny

It is a question for Nanook.

I’m his number one scum, assuming he is not parking a vote as scum himself.
So who does he have on my scum team?

p sure i’ve said something like that as town before (when i think someone is using their suspicion of me as an excuse to avoid doing anything in a game)

(p sure i’ve also said something like that as scum before but point is i don’t think it’s that bad)

Eh. It felt off to me.

VOTE: nanock

better =/= townier

mm

I think you might be onto something here. The push on Srceenplay does seem a bit overdone. From re-reading the conversation with Mantis, the outrage seems exaggerated there too. This in particular:

It’s funny, in the game that Nanook shared where he was Scum, he got called out for overreacting there as well (in that instance, to other players revealing their “cards”, which had an impact on a mechanic within the game):

So this could be Nanook playing to his Scum meta. It could also just be noise, and we could be wrong.

I tially agree Josh.
And I have not taken my vote off of you.
However.

The only way town can recognise town is by talking to each other.
So when a players refuses to talk I see it as scummy.
Now that you are prepared to talk it give me and everyone else who does not know your alignment a chance to sus you out.

And of course there are scum who talk endlessly (nanook?) and town who don’t talk much at all.
I just believe it is easier for scum to hide when town are not talking.
So see talking as a slight town lean.

With many exceptions (in before the pedants start up.)
(Yes you Andre, I said naive, I meant more kinda pedantic, I guess?)
(people simply don’t say exactly what they mean everytime.)
(I rarely know what I am going to type before I type it.)

VOTE: Nanook

Actually never mind my vote remains

VOTE: Srceenplay

also, in fairness, you probably didn’t go on about it as long as i originally thought you did, it just felt that way when reading through in comparison to what else you were doing in the game (and given that i still think it wasn’t all that fantastic a point to begin with, that still stands out)

anywho, reading the rest of what i’ve missed soon

I feel catspurr is really town recently

VC 1-23

catspurr: 4 (Nanook, ActionDan, skitter30, Josh)

Dunno yet! I’m sure they’ll show themselves in due time.

Insults aren’t really necessary here though. I’m scumreading you for a meta reason, it’s nothing personal. But I guess taking it there makes it easier for you to try and defend it, so whatever.

  1. And I should be expected to play the same way as you because
?

1a. The questions were about that point, so I answered about that point. Don’t see the issue.

  1. Eh, sometimes a turn of phrase can be fairly revealing. However, I agree with you that it’s not enough on its own to make someone scum
hence my keeping my vote on cats rather than switching it to screen when this happened.

I will also note that not liking the way somebody plays is generally more likely to be a style clash and NAI than it is an actual scum indicator. You don’t like how I play, fine, that’s your right. I don’t like how MS or Josh play, that’s my right. It doesn’t make them scum just because i don’t like their style, and even though I think they’re actively detrimental to the town
that could just as easily if not more so fit into the “anti-town but not scummy” category.

You of all people should know I react strongly to being misrepped as town too. Genuinely not sure how Nanook being frustrated with the other half of a conversation being (possibly intentionally) dumb and/or obtuse is AI for you, but whatever.

Also worth considering is that I did that as scum because I react that way as town. It’s very difficult to catch scumNanook on behavioral cues like that, cause scumNanook is very good at imitating his town outbursts. That’s not generally the way to catch scumNanook, especially for someone that hasn’t seen a full Nanook game yet.

Like, I don’t mean to be arrogant about it, but that’s just the truth. I can be caught as scum, that’s just generally not how it happens.
