Urist claims to be a race cop.
He claims to have investigated Judges race on Night Two.
AND
He knew Judges Race Before she did!
So? If he is not a Race cop how did he Know that Judge was a Ferengi?

So, I believe his claim.
A role cop is usually a scum role, but a Race Cop?
I can’t see that being a scum role in this game.
I think it is more likely that Urists investigative role is more powerful than he think it is and that he is, indeed town.

But that does not seem to translate to it making any more sense as scum than it does as town.

It is the town consense that is the problem.

That’s understandable.
The Mafia psyche certainly had distancing as a prime strategy, both with Nanook & skitter/cabd. If we extrapolate there it points to cats (D1) and MS (D2) most prominently, though mafia ‘distanced’ from others too - most really, apart from maybe pyx or Mantis.

2 things:

1. I don’t so much mind us labeling the sleepwalk as jailing, but we need to acknowledge (from others with claimed or proven PRs) that if a PR and not a mechanic (and I think it likely IS a mafia PR) it most likely isn’t titled as such in a role PM, and it still sounds to me more like something NOT including a protect delineated by Jailer. I think it more likely either parallels the more typical prostitute/blocker role cabd had as a 2-shot, or some weird possessor thing one would ordinarily think as intended to incriminate, but yet with no counter role to actually yeild an incrimination.
2. Urist is the one who twice has indicated ahead of time that the follow-through of his preferrences, if proven wrong (which they have), should result in his lynch - that’s where the impetus for an Urist lynch comes from.
   No one has greater reason to hope the Urist claim is genuine and town than I. But there’s no way even were the claim of RaceCop proven that that makes him “conftown” or the extent of his role. Probable maybe, esp. in that mafia could easily hide in the VT claims.

I agree with this, just not the jail aspect. Remember, it was intially speculated, based on the false Scum!cabd claim, that MS was redirected or possesed to do the kill on _fferyllt. It still would have likely taken combined mafia roles to effect both the _fferyllt kill & a genuine “sleepwalk” on MS.

IF the sleepwalk is limited shot-wise (as have most revealed roles to this point), and IF mafia had prior knowledge of the “sleepwalk” flavour (that is, the exact wording of the sleepwalk PM - an aspect I sort of lean toward doubting), then mafia coordinating the claim seems at least plausible. Yeah, it seems to me pretty wild as a mafia strategy, but so does bussing the 2-shot mafia roleblock 2 days in a row.
That is, it’s possible though maybe not probable that any of the MS or Mantis sleepwalk claims are false - certainly not all of them, and all of the claims may be genuine, but it’s indeed strange that other actual town PRs weren’t targeted. AND, it’s very interesting that in a self-defense against cabd’s false claim seeking to incriminate MS, MS DID NOT claim VT as a defence at that time, and esp. so considering that cabd specifically asked if MS had a night action before claiming to have tracked MS to _fferyllt.

Is the “trouble” on Mantis chiefly that she and others have championed the lynching of both the town protective role claims, or since you’re not that elevating of special roles is it a matter of associatives or tone or something?

I’m just thinking cause… the targets of the sleepwalk make no sense. Why scum would choose MS twice and then choose me (VT). Look at it from my POV, I know I am VT.

Then I got thinking what Judge said… could MS have targeted himself as scum? Maybe. But then no… because night 2 there was no kill. He wouldn’t jail himself and not make a kill and claim what can be interpreted as a block.

So what’s going on here? Because again, it doesn’t make sense for scum to use it on me.

Andre’s have you gotten anything out of your orb interpreter role? Or you examine orbs? Sorry if you’ve already said today.

The bitter recriminations around the “speed” wagon is unhelpful town whining (and one smug scum stirring the pot).

And of COURSE pyx should have been lynched yesterday. So, today is the day.

I understand what you guys are saying - yes, clearly some of us on that wagon are Town. I was more trying to say that there’s probably Scum on the wagon. But maybe not. I am going to have to re-read D3 I think, see if anything shakes out.

to recap, I wanted to sort pyx yesterday… yes I did say I would hammer and I had had enough of the game day so was happy to end it, given it looked like the only consensus was going to be on screenplay. The thing is, imo screenplay helped lynch himself in no small way through all of his fake claiming (Shame!).

I know, and I agree. Srceen did not help himself there. I also see why he did not provide more detail about his powers being limited to 2 nights - he was clearly trying to dissuade Scum from targeting him given that they had probably failed the night before. His fake claiming certainly did not help, but I should have listened to those that were saying that a claimed Doctor is probably not something Scum would claim given the risks.

I think it would be easy for scum to stay on either side of that fence. My gut says that the scum is one of the people who tried to set up my lynch for today. Because it’s weird how many people were calling for my lynch yesterday if Srceen flips town, who aren’t voting me. I think the list is Andres, pyx, catspurr. So that means at least two of you are town. idk. I need to find the time to do a read. Possibly this weekend.

I know you have Mantis cleared as Town in your head, but I will point this out to you again (as I did at Night):

I will concede to this. IF screen flips town, we flip Urist. I don’t think that’ll have to happen though

I just do not want to vote you because I have been quite unsuccessful this game when proposing Scum myself. However, I have been slightly more successful when following other players arguments and trying to make sense of them. I am not convinced that you are Town, but your arguments and posting just do not ring as Scum in my head. Pyx’s argument that Nanook seemed to be distancing himself from his Scum buddies (instead of buddying up to them) also makes me question whether it is worth voting for you. However, the further along we go, the less value I am willing to place on anything Nanook did, and the more I will revisit this view.

Andres Emmissary Role could be a good cover for scum. And we know he puts in as much effort for his posts as scum as he does for town.

First off, that was not Urist scum pile, it was the ones who want to vote him if srceen flipped town.
I have explained why I have changed my mind on him.

Not his Scum pile, but he did make it clear that he would look amongst us. Cats, given Nanook’s history and style, and the fact that it has been practically confirmed that the Scum were bussing each other heavily in this game, it is not out of the question that I would support flipping you. I do not think that Pyx should be in Lylo, but maybe you shouldn’t either.

Whatever you think of my alignment this game, I have literally 0 incentive to fake claim that I received a scarf. I have already proven that I can steal Orbs and attend the Celestial Temple, so why would I ever lie about receiving a scarf? It adds nothing, beyond potentially sending the message that Josh mistrusted me and thought it best that I did not hold an Orb. Since he was NK’ed, I could have easily taken that information to the grave. I had not even thought through the implications once I told everybody about what I got. Just for background.

MS might be lying about being a VT is the only reasonable conclusion I can make from this (this is in fact an excellent point). Because I agree, it is kind of weird that MS would not just go well, I could not target anybody since I am a VT so you are definitely Scum trying to frame me, leading to Cabd’s immediate death.
