Probably have to take back my slight scum lean and say very neutral.
Just not enough there to read anything.
Hi Metal, can you give us more input please?
Or a reason for your low contribution?
Ta.

fixt!
This is a vote and a point of view.
Not a question to me.
I donât tend to respond to this as either alignment, town or scum.
Another one who is saying Srceenplay shoud be lynched but then not voting them.
So basically I am agree with ActionDans posts on srceenplay.
The only thing I disagee with is his point on my Metal Sonic vote.
And he can see it that way if he wants
Why donât you address votes on you? Itâs an opportunity to understand whatâs going through peopleâs minds, and if nothing else, probe further. It might give others the opportunity to spot something that doesnât make sense. The wall of quotes thing is a criticism of me and I get it - it can make it harder to keep up with the game or want to read. I always tell myself to tone it down but clearly fail every time.
The last flurry of posts is making me reconsider my stance.
@fferyllt you missed my vote but thatâs alright I am going to change it I think.
UNVOTE: Catspurr
You do make a good point that it can draw out information Andres.
But it can also draw you into overreacting and that can obscure things.
I probably shouldnât say I never address the votes, but I try to limit it as much as possible.
And no, it was not your wall of posts. I was thinking of skitter who I guess I will have to try and untangle and decide what side they are really on.
What are your thought on skitter?
I read the wall of posts and I actually liked the content - I found myself agreeing a lot. Itâs a bit similar to my style I suppose, but better, less paranoid.
Iâll get to this next.
@Nanook: yeah ok i skimmed through the first couple of pages of that game and i think this is something you do as town so it prob isnât ai for you to suggest it even though itâs a god-awful idea
yes, thatâs why it feels kinda icky i think - like you were undermining/shading his point that you were calling him scummy without voting him
â
your english is quite good btw
you come across as kinda inexperienced, or maybe kinda out-of-it is a good way to describe it? like youâre not really sure whatâs going on or what youâre supposed to be doing right now. and you kinda misread some peopleâs posts. iâm trying to determine if thatâs an inexperience-in-general thing or a newb-scum thing, which is why iâm asking you about how you approach mafia.
i think at least part of why youâre being percieved that way stems from how you structure your sentences and your posts - you sometimes give off the effect that youâre not entirely sure whatâs going on
i kinda feel like if you were scum here and being voted for that be a bit more ⊠self-conscious maybe? or maybe try to play the newbie card? iâm not really getting those vibes tho - youâre not playing up the newb angle or getting defensive or anything, so iâm tending towards thinking itâs actual confusion and clueslessness from you here, and not scum-playing-ditz-to-escape-suspicion
i donât particularly like the votes on you right now since i donât think youâve actually really done much scummy
like mantisâs vote on you is kinda meh - 189-191 kinda seems like he was waiting for someone to give him something to push and when urist named you, he decided to vote there
â
(aside iâm finding the lack of pagination to be mildly frustrating)
â
@Andresvmb: this feels kinda defensive tbh
â
@urist: i remembered at some point today that in the game i played with him like a year ago he was a vt and fake-claimed cop iirc and iâm pretty sure he faked a guilty (or an inno? i donât remember which) but his result either way was super unbelievable and i mislynched him for it.
so basically i donât believe this but itâs def soemthing that i think he could/would do as town; i donât know if itâs in his scumrange to fake guilties like that
i also think that itâs basically a distraction at this point because nobody really thinks itâs real so unless people think it has some bearing on his alignment idk if this is a super useful topic of conversation either way
â
@Andresvmb: welp, spoke too soon
a) i donât think the claim is real and i think youâre taking it too seriously
b) wrt catsâ alignment: i donât think we can conclude that sheâs town. if screenâs town he doesnât know her alignment if the claim is fake, and if heâs scum, i agree that he prob doesnât tie himself to his partner by innoâing her; i think the most reasonable conclusion is that they probably arenât svs
c) where do you get the vibe that heâs not a high-risk-high-reward kind of player? thatâs pretty much exactly my vibe of him. (or, more perhaps more accurately, i think he just doesnât really care about the consequences of what he does or how heâs percieved)
â
@Nanook: this kinda pings me the wrong way; idk if i can articulate why tho. it feels like youâre like almost overemphasizing your point with the sarcasm and like trying to draw attention back to the excuse thing? like you want to make this into a talking point again? that doesnât explain it super well i think but iâm not sure how to explain it better
â
@actiondan: why pl worthy?
â
lolololol ok
@catspurr: yeah this isnât a thing
â
@catspurr: i donât understand why youâre voting nanook here
â
@Andresvmb: not entirely following this thought-process - earlier as far as i can tell ur conclusion on all of this is that: a) screen, if town, was telling the truth regarding the claim and that cats was thus town and b) screen, if scum, wouldnât claim a guilty on his partner and c) town!screen is unlikely to fake this
and that cats was therefore probably town
so iâm not sure why youâre voting for cats here because youâre confused by screenâs claim
â
huh, this is a good point actually
â
@Srceenplay: i think that his âyou were looking for an excuse to move your voteâ is kinda meh and that heâs over-focusing on a word choice and like trying to make it into a thing when i donât really think itâs ai
i donât think that pointing out that scum might fake miller is shading tho; iâve seen scum do that before and itâs a reasonable concern to have imo
(cough boon cough)
â
eh letâs do this i think
VOTE: catspurr
â
(also sorry for the walls; thatâs kinda my style; i do my best to keep them readable tho)
I was working on a post with my lean on various players, and I realized that it had a lot of holes, so I will share what I think is most relevant. My Town leans are this group: {Skitter, Urist, ActionDan, AKFD, and Parsec}. I would at this stage stay away from voting amongst this group of players. I have explained the reasoning on Skitter (#329), Urist and ActionDan appear to me to be trying to sort out the game and are explaining what they are seeing in a way I can follow, AKFD I am getting newbie Town vibes from (Skitter actually makes a very valid point, and something I used as Scum, which is to defuse pressure by mentioning that I was new to the game), and Parsec (mostly due to the fact that Parsec claimed Miller and has not faced a CC). I think thereâs enough content to get some sort of initial read on Mantis and Nanook, I just have not completed the work yet.
Cats I think I am most confused by, so I will do a re-read.
Srceenplay I am leaning negatively on due to the fake-claim. The way he went about it did not strike me as pro-Town. Metal Sonic I have a slight negative lean on, but not much to say since thereâs also not much to go by, beyond the unexplained vote on Urist. In a prior game that we played together were Metal Sonic was Town, he seemed to be a little more engaged (and creative). I am seeing none of that here.
I am neutral on _ffery and Josh. _ffery, I am looking at you in particular to help us sort out what is happening and share more of your thoughts, because you have been largely absent.
Well, thanks!
Yes, Iâm a newbie. And I lack previous game hints.
I also donât understand catspurrâs Nook vote.
Not voting yet.
I was going for sarcastic, but defensive is fair as well. Look, I donât mind being criticized for the actual thoughts, or called out on stuff that does not make sense. I do not have a wealth of experience, so you should expect to see me make mistakes. But my writing style is what it is. So I donât appreciate being attacked for the way that I share my thoughts, or for how I âapproach the gameâ. What does that mean, anyway? Itâs a line of attack I would expect Scum to use - shade people not for the content of their posts or the reasoning behind them (or even overall tone, which is how I got caught last game), but some vague stuff that is impossible to argue against (but looks like an argument).
Haha yeah, probably. The one time I have seen Srceenplay (partly) fake-claim, it was slightly different. He just said that he might have an investigative result to disclose, only to backtrack and say that he didnât (which drew the ire of other players, but actually yielded useful information [incidentally, about me]). Here, he has doubled-down, though as Urist pointed out, partly in a way that it makes it obvious that he is probably lying about it. I am examining it closely because I have a different feel for it - it feels less of a gambit to help Town. Again, Urist is right (and a version of what he put down crossed my mind). The players most likely to be skeptical of Srceenplayâs claim early are also the most likely to have some sort of power that can be used at Night, which they did not get to use N0. Cop would be an example. It might have been specific to Cop, but you can easily extend this to similarly-flavored roles.
To be succinct, I agree. I think I was trying to get at this - I just was not as clear.
I actually saw a much more careful version of him last game we played. Maybe it was the ending, but the fact that he weighed his options carefully during the last few days in Flip Flappers might be skewing my view. If he has outright fake-claimed before and gotten mislynched for it, then that would fly in the face of what I said earlier.
I believe you might have missed #261 and #292. In any case, I have pulled my vote back because I am just not sure, and need to think about it some more.
Thatâs it from me today. Will be back tomorrow (in real time).

You should try harder.

Why?
Why do you think cats voted for Nanook? Walk me through your thought process and tell me where youâre getting stuck.
