Deep Space 9 Mafia - Game Over!

why did you revote? what changed in the short period of time that gave you such a sudden enlightenment then made you retract the game-winning play?

because theres no such thing

it’s time to lynch josh

josh is scum because town-josh never lynches me here

yes, because they saw the accidental softclaim that mantis even saw and highlighted earlier.

pyx’s last post convinces me that he is town

therefore currently i believe the following people are town:
{urist, mantis, andres, pyx, catspurr}

the following I would think they’re town normally but now I have doubts on their alignment:
{screenplay, judgemental, cabd}

the following i think are playing to a scum win condition:
{josh}

we shouldl ynch josh as we should have yeasterday

sorry urist but i dont think pyx is scum after his last post

Pyx, I hopped because with Urist and Nanook off the Cabd wagon, I thought it would be unlikely that we would achieve a Cabd lynch with such limited time left (and I thought it was necessary to lynch someone I was not Town reading to move the game forward). I was also falling asleep at the time (you will notice that I put the vote down and disappeared). I regret not having questioned it more.

You also shouldn’t ignore that Srceenplay in #1525 is the first person to introduce Smilodon as a viable alternative, which I argued should be Cabd instead (with a vote on #1528).

I don’t know if I agree that there would have been no Town cred from lynching a fellow Scum player (should Cabd be Scum). I think that if we had achieved a lynch of Cabd and he flips Scum, we would have looked closely at those that were around but did not vote first, before considering those that stalled but ended up voting. It’s just a feeling - I can’t say for sure. It certainly buys you some time if you spin it correctly. If Cabd is Town, then Urist hammering there next to Nanook, after stating that there’s Scum on the wagon, is probably a bad idea.

You know, your entire analysis rests on Urist being Scum with Nanook, and it’s based on where they were in the wagons at the end of the day. And it’s not the easiest sell. Nanook could have been buddying Urist up there at the end to make him look bad later. Don’t get me wrong, I have certainly argued that it’s possible that Urist is Scum. And those end of day interactions still make me question Urist’s alignment. I just don’t know.

No one else is poo pooing the smilodon lynch. It happened because we were pressed for time and needed a lynch. It would have been ridiculous to have a no lynch after 2 weeks. This was all talked about in the thread

lets vote josh together and save the metal hedgehogs. they are an endangered species

Hey, I hate no-lynches too, I just know that 13 favours it when there’s no clear target.

I just don’t think we even went for an iffy target. We picked someone we knew wouldn’t be around and in a slot that was looking to be turned around, imo. I even agree with Judge that smilodon likely is relieved by it, but it was a terrible lynch, especially for a CFD. Though, OK, AKFD/smilodon wound up being VT. I’ll even grant that were the CFD initiated by MRers our natural superiority (not) to the MSers may have been more successful, since we’ve largely met with success at MR using CFDs.

But you’re a hybrid - you’re both MR and MS. As one perhaps more used to 8-day days you should know there’s no difference just for the time factor. I mean, we didn’t “need” a lynch, and it would not have been “ridiculous”, imo. It may have fostered the “apathy” Andres mentioned (cats, Judge, smilodon, and I probably wanted to die as soon as we signed on, on the time factor alone), but does having 4 subs do any less? For players used to such elongated games a D1 no-lynch with 13 players should be a simple matter of strategy, not time.

All I’ve meant is that it seems odd to me that, as you say, after 2 weeks, we choose in minutes with CFD OUTSIDE any of the prominent wagons earlier throughout that time. It’s as if EVERYONE on that wagon knew it was an acceptible compromise between scum and town - scum gets a dead known townie and town gets to pat themselves on the back saying, “Look! we accomplished something”.

It made me sad when you brought up the betrayal of potato annie. I’ll think about Josh. Who is his partner?

@Urist, maybe you’ve said, but why is it you think cabd did not claim yesterday? Was is just not being around when he went to 5 and 6?

@pyx I’ll respond in a bit : )

im thinking hard. one of the above list.

i’m not sure if josh is certainly slam dunk scum or not, but he’s definitely helping scum here whichever color role pm he got from our wonderful host fferyllt

VOTE: unvote

^ and yesterday, the cabd wagon was completely grown in cabd’s ansence. He didn’t have a vote on him when he last posted that day.

so?

it doesnt indicate anything honestly give nthe game state we’re in

In his first post today, Cabd said he wasn’t around when he got wagoned. Dunno if that’s true, he could have just been lurking like he seems to be now.
