This is not true and causes far more harm than good, because it silences someone’s voice while giving the troll the power to target and silence them.
Like I literally have about 20 books and academic articles on online harassment saved in a folder that I’ve been reading as part of my personal research as I’ve been trying to make better Survivor ORG rules.

probably because you seeing people trying to build better online communities makes you afraid of your own behavior and rather than confronting your own laziness about not doing anything better, you want to bring down the people who are trying and to devalue their own efforts by likening them to copypasta.
