Should we have community awards?
If so, what should be awarded?
How should who wins what be decided?
One of the issues with awards is the amount of effort involved in judging them. If there’s a way to make them not a huge effort/headache, I’m interested.
Pure vote or just using some numeric metric for certain things could remove that potential hassle.
If there is a judging panel how should it be formed? I don’t think “whoever happens to have time and is willing to do the work” is the right answer.
Awards probably are NOT worth doing unless they’re meaningful to the community and (mostly) perceived as fair.
