that works sooo well
/s
also we have gone to much more annoying items for codes in previous games.

you just dont have the decryption key right

Do you know how they work it’s pretty cool and is what elli is talking about and is totally unfair during a mafia game which is why it’s the extreme end of BANNED

cue wedontdothathere.jpg

i mean I know it is binary. do i need to shift the start or is it just a scramble of 1’s and 0’s with no real meaning

is it mores code but instead of dots and dashes it is 1s and 0s

nono
so like

say I share ahead of time the sequence of bits with Elli

010101010101011110101010101010101001001100101011010101010101010101101010010010101010111101010010101010101010101010000101011101010100101000101010101011111101010101000101010101010101010010101010101010101blahblabhalbhalbhablhablhlabhablhhabla

and then we are the only ones who have this because we shared it before the game starts

and then if I post 1001010101010101010, what he does is he adds it to the first 19 characters of our shared one time pad modulo 2 , and he gets my true message (because I did the same before posting, and most importantly adding the same sequence of bits twice is the same as doing nothing, so we can both perform the same operation on our binary posts and get the same result - necessary for exchanging coded messages in the open).

Then he and I know what I said due to a shared secret, while to everyone else because of the added entropy of a sequence of randomly generated bits that they do not know, it is impossible to interpret anything about my post.

sorry chesskid explains crypto is probably not as polished today as it would have been a few years ago

ww2 simulator

why not just DM the player about game from discord

Usually banned by rules of the game–talking about the game outside of the game’s normal channels.

Sometimes, though, there’s one or more Town people who can (legally) communicate, or open communications with others, via DM. If they’re smart enough to pass a key on, then whoever they’ve contacted can respond. Of course… how to get the responses through is another question. I’ve been in a couple of games where we ran those successfully.

no that makes sense.

Using a night only neighbor chat to create keys mid game and then continue to talk during the day in thread would also be considered against the rules by most hosts I think?

But also I personally think PTs should always be open unless its a meme PT

Depends on the host.

Is why I said most hosts lul

I will say that in games I’ve been in, we’ve used something like that two or three times–all times with the host’s knowledge–and never had an issue.

The problem with the method the group I tend to play with prefers, good spelling is a must, but it’s also a dead giveaway that there’s a message going through when misspellings crop up.

either that or EOD cause speed posts
