Ranked 2v7

You are being serious this time I take it?

To me, the game is ultimately split between Urist and Nanook. With a 1% side chance of Jake in case he was false-cleared by Elli by pre-submitting a kill to teach us an object lesson of his arguments in StarV mafiaā€™d dead thread.

Urist has finally woken up so thereā€™s content there.

Given the plausibly real chance we may lose given M2Hā€™s tunnel, I think Urist stepping up now makes sense. Ultimately a town win is necessary to maximize rankings, after all.

Iā€™m going to say this upfront - Jake is Town like 99% of the time here. It would definitely be funny though if Jake consciously decided to shorten nights to ā€œclear himselfā€. Then again, we canā€™t operate in like a 1% universe. You take the L in that case and move on.

Certainly. Iā€™m glad our assessments match.

Itā€™s cute that 99% + 1% = 100%!

I think my read of Urist was probably wrong, and Iā€™m letting my issues with the ranking system get in the way of how Iā€™m analyzing his alignment here, if that makes sense.

Itā€™s also kind of annoying that everybody got to complain about the ranking system and we didnā€™t. But letā€™s leave that for after game.

I donā€™t blame you. The ranking system encourages town to behave like dirks. Iā€™m glad they had a good chat with Ellibereth on the misgivings on the system and so that he will fix them for the future.

I donā€™t really mind that much because I donā€™t care much about rankings. I will likely return back into retirement after this game is over. Iā€™m playing my best as a courtesy to the rest of the town who do care about rankings. ā€œClearingā€ me eliminates a spot where they could mis-vote which would dramatically help town rankings. The rest is up to them.

Yeah. Feels FOMO man.

Iā€™m actually convinced by Uristā€™s case that Nanook is scum. Nanook has been chill and cool this game so itā€™ll be sad to lynch him personally but we have to do whatā€™s best for the game.

Ironically, if Nanook is indeed scum, StarV would probably win the maximum rank because he sniped Nanook both Day 1 and Day 2 if I recall. Phenomenal!

I need to make up my own mind about what to do here. I didnā€™t appreciate Nanook agreeing with Chess that I ā€œhavenā€™t done anything Town this gameā€. Whatever Chess has been relatively ā€œunkindā€ to me lately (I would use a different word but Iā€™m trying to be #friendly), so Iā€™m not like surprised by that. But Nanook and M2H completely flipping on me does make me skeptical. And Iā€™ll say this - from a long-term perspective, fighting Nanook when heā€™s Scum gets tougher as the game gets smaller.

Youā€™re right about StarV. I had totally forgotten about their vote D1.

Interesting take. I feel that your post needs a little more context to make clear since it appears to involve more personal history between yourself and the involved players but I suppose itā€™s not necessary to disclose.

Sure, looking forward to what you have to say later.

I donā€™t think thereā€™s any more game-related stuff we have to discuss?

I donā€™t mean out of game. Heā€™s literally been a bit of a jerk to me in a few games recently. You can find examples of this on site.

In a typical game I would be suspicious of amy player (M2H) immediately treating Nanook and Chess as masons off the bat when they have self-admittedly ā€œnot done anything thatā€™s townā€. But given M2Hā€™s strong tunnel so far Iā€™m not going to pursue that until that becomes a problem later in the game. But because of this, Urist including M2H as part of his PoE is not wrong.

Like he complained about my play in the Italian Mafia game that GTacc modded, comparing it to a different game where I clearly screwed up and tanked the Town. And it pissed me off. He admitted to be trying to troll me but it seemed a bit much. I donā€™t take it all that personal but it does impact this game I feel.

Itā€™s the same game that StarV said he had avenged Chess in here.

I believe that is the very definition of ā€œout of gameā€. Unless you mean in real life, in which case I wouldnā€™t expect that to happen.

Iā€™ve had trouble with chesskidā€™s abrasive temperament too initially but I think heā€™s an okay dude after all.

However, this is just some context. Chess is not going to let all of this necessarily get in the way of him maximizing his own e.lo btw. But he is wrong about my alignment here.
