Parity Cop 9'er (1, 2) OVER

Well are you willing to vote for Dan today?

No I think he and TN are cleared so it’s you or Andres if anything

So you’re telling me to pressure Andres. Which doesn’t make any sense because chances are that if I get lynched, he’s next up anyway.

No you deducted that

I have no idea what you’re trying to say then. You’ve made it abundantly clear that you’re not even willing to entertain the idea of AD or tn being scum. That leaves Andres and yourself. Are you asking me to pressure you so that you can out yourself?

I think Josh had me as Town entirely based on my vote against Star and my overall play, and I really doubt that I was checked. You do have to admit that if I’m Scum, I’ve narrowed my potential lynches considerably throughout the game, which I just wouldn’t do if I’m Scum.

I’m rather disappointed that you consistently insist that this isn’t my Town game, which is why I’m in all likelihood going to vote for you. We’ve played enough where I think you should be able to read me correctly, and you just aren’t here.

The vote today in my mind is between you and Dusk, and I strongly TR Dusk. I think the soft of TN is too strong for me to ignore, and the way that Josh set up Dan makes me think that he also checked Dan. I feel like if he had checked someone else, then he would have just set that person up and left Dan in the lynch pool.

Also, why would Josh check me (when I was on the StarV wagon) over someone else that wasn’t? Remember, I could have created a situation where Chess gets lynched. I went against Star instead. And I know Josh strongly disputed that this could have happened, but the votes were there.

Also I think this overall attitude of just dismissing Dan’s posts as “bad” is Scummy. He’s trying to take shortcuts to push against Dan and I’m not buying it.

I think this is rich since it’s what you are also doing. And frankly, it’s what we should be doing. Not trying to figure out what Josh meant as the Cop would just be negligence.

Wait, didn’t you try this already? And what about my behavior towards the DS wagon? I said it made sense mechanically, but I actually came out and said that DS’ posts were Towny. What’s the issue?

Dusk has been Townier than you. Unless you are suggesting that he bussed his Partner consistently and throughout D1, when you weren’t even on the wagon and voting TN.

Are we sure about this?

My ranking is a bit like this:
Strongly TR
{Dusk, TN} - TN primarily because of the softed check, which seems to be what we all agree happened. In any case, I am delegating the read here to Josh a bit.
Lean Town
{ActionDan} - Overall, I am having trouble reading AD here, but I am going to lean on my conclusion that Josh checked Dan.
Lynch
{Urist} - Both by PoE and gameplay, I think this is correct. I know my own alignment, so Urist pushing me here sort of confirms to me that this is the right play. If you really think I am Scum here then there’s a few things you need to explain.

you’re only scum here if urist flips town

Ok well I reread Dusk/Andres D1 and particularly the interactions with StarV. When I look for busing potential I look for a couple of factors. The most common are people that have stronger convictions than their argument or pressure warrants. The only one this would apply to is Dusk but his posts, while being akin to a dog that bites and doesn’t let go, are mostly appropriate scaling conviction with their discourse. I do think the early suspicion on StarV was a bit more sudden then what I might expect but it’s within reason and after that posts flowed naturally. In particular I don’t think post #592 looks like a Scum on Scum interaction (especially the 1st paragraph).

Less common (because it usually doesn’t achieve too much) are weaker buses that are done where the vote looks like an afterthought or a reluctant one. That might fit AndrĂ©s. I can’t entirely discount it either. The transformation from StarV looks weakly town to just neutral to not worth saving from a lynch is a mild read change on the surface despite some of the decently strong pressure Andres offered against StarV throughout that time period. That said Andres has a very cautious playstyle and this narrative does fit cautious town that would be reluctant to reassess an early read (that’s just the human psyche at work). Some posts like #346 4th paragraph don’t look like buses (others you can make arguments for). And a post like #391 seems like a lot of effort to go through for trying to “deduce” a scum partner’s fake perspective (or care about it).

Any other way to look for buses always involves seeing wether the action of busing might reap town credit one day but I can’t find any particular posts from either that would on the surface extract that. Aside from AndrĂ©s 4th vote on the wagon, but the reason for that is understandable enough.

As for Urist’s arguments lately I suppose I just don’t care for them naturally, but I really don’t see his absolute conviction on Andres/Dusk being the cop targets having merit when 1) There’s scant evidence to support either and 2) while I do think there is ambiguity in my case, because of josh feeling saying my play was scummy multiple times to appease people imo, but I think there isn’t much ambiguity in tn’s case.

I don’t see myself voting AndrĂ©s/Dusk so I’ll leave it at this.

RESET

DO NOT VOTE YET.

Clearly any work being done to try and figure out what Josh was doing was worthless. I’m going to reevaluate the whole game and make an informed choice. I understand that it might not be up to me since it seems mechanically that I’m the lynch here. But it loses us the game.

I’m also very confused as to the NK, but I won’t speculate about that.

Fuck me I didn’t want to be in this situation. I think TN was obviously one of the clears anyways and we don’t have any cop work to go on regardless. Tbh I’m feeling like we might have to just go with Dan dmtoday because assuming Josh sifting him was definitely a stretch, and there is also the logic that Josh was pulling off a gambit to see if Dan would be the only person to know that Dan isn’t cop.

Only thing that concerns me is Andres association with starv D1 I’ll have to read back on but I think players who have played with Andres before said he was towny on meta, so I may have to just sheep Josh on a townread for Andres here.
