It’s definitely possible that scum were absent during all of that, like if the scum is AD and tn. But otherwise I agree with you, if Star is town and the scumteam isn’t exactly AD/tn, chances are good that one scum was supporting / pushing the lynch and one was hanging back / defending Star.
I know I’m more or less stating the obvious, but I feel like it’s significantly likely that there is exactly one scum in StarV/Josh/chesskid/Dusk and one scum in the other 5.

I don’t know why you are saying that the cop is so strong in this setup. There’s a 2/9 chance we lynch the cop or his target d1. If they both live, there’s like a 1/3 chance the cop or his n0/n1 target die n1. And even then, if all three are somehow alive on d2, there’s still like a 1/3 chance we are in a 1v1 scenario. Even in the <10% chance where everything goes as you want it to go, we don’t know whether the checks are both town or both mafia. If anything, one of the best things about the cop is that he’s effectively confirmed town and cannot be lynched without scum going into a 1v1.

The thing is that I feel like chess has explained his scum read on Star literally dozens of times in dozens of ways so “look at my iso” is a fairly acceptable response from chess there. If anything I read tn’s remark on that as trying to steer the conversation back onto a StarV lynch, especially since he was just echoing what you had already said.

Um still worthy of my vote but I’m not super inspired. In an iso of rather milquetoast posts I find #212 looking like a scummy kneejerk reaction to subconsciously thinking of being assigned blame to propagating StarV’s wagon when in context that wasn’t the case. And that entirely overshadows almost everything else in the iso which are just shades of ‘eh’.

This is exactly how I felt about Dusk as well. I also feel like he might be scum who is more comfortable pushing the StarV wagon now that it’s matured a bit, but it’s hard to tell with how active the thread’s been honestly.
Overall though it’s a week read and Josh seems to think he’s town so I’ll give him a pass for now.

His quote stripe post consisted exclusively of "i’m not lurking"s and "i don’t trust you"s and contained absolutely no reads or attempts at scumhunting. I really dislike how he was asking for chess’s explanation of his Star read without even hinting at what his own read of Star might be; I feel like it’s a thinly veiled attempt at focusing town!chesskid’s attention on town!StarV with a side order of hoping chess will give tn a reason to hop on the Star wagon.

I think it’s pretty hard to command respect in your town game if you never justify yourself, it’s so easy to fake as scum which we saw in the last ranked game.

I don’t honestly have the conviction right this second. I’ll try to at least have a list from most to least scummy before I go to bed tonight.

I have a hard time believing that you really see more of a Town thought process by some other players (like TN, whose #181 is questionable, thought his later posts were okay) than me, so yeah that’s mostly why.
