Why don’t we let him answer
When I did word analysis stuff there were a lot of good hits in the response. That said there were certain people where asking them about the weather was useful for determining alignment.
Anyway I’m in an interesting spot since I think Tier is mafia but it’s suboptimal to lynch there for other reasons.
UNVOTE
But I don’t think I’ve been particularly townie so far to be honest and it just makes me wonder about how you got to that conclusion.
I’m never really on it with reads day 1 and it usually gets people suspicious of me so I’m just finding it odd that you are town reading me when I haven’t even given any reads yet.
Like your scumread of andres still wasn’t really explained either you just said he was scum and now he’s dead and to be honest I’m already a little suspicious of you for that but townreading me strongly on the basis of what I’ve done so far in the game seems strange.
Wut
Do you mean we should lynch outside the Andres wagon because we already found scum on there?
Nope. Either you get it or you don’t for this one soz. Not explaining.
Like Tier is by far the most likely scum, his interaction at the very end with Andres was omegalul.

I do appreciate both of you responding to this. I hope everyone else does too.
I think I get it, but…still gonna kill tier, sorry.

I dunno what to tell you dude, you seem townie to me
Like, besides not being used to being townread, what is your actual issue with the read? Are you such a good scum player that I shouldn’t be TRing you?

Bolded for emphasis
Am I such a good scum player that you shouldn’t be TRing me? What on Earth does that even mean?
I just spend my first day quietly figuring out where I think people are coming from without giving reads so
I’m just trying to figure out how you came to that conclusion. I think there’s a reasonable chance of getting a good town circle going quickly here but I wanna be sure first.
And I don’t like the way you phrased this either. ‘Not used to being townread’ is deliberately weird way to phrase how i explained myself. I’m not used to being townread WHEN I HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING YET. That’s the relevant part of how i explained it so i don’t know why you left that out.
It amounted to “I’m not used to being townread” tbh. And sure, you haven’t done anything in the sense you haven’t found scum, but there are other ways to look townie, yeah? Like, we don’t evaluate based purely off “has person X found scum yet,” right?
It’s a pretty straightforward question. Are you so good at playing scum that I shouldn’t trust what I see as towntells.
Anyways, you’re pretty much just arguing semantics with me at this point, so I’m gonna go ahead and keep TRing you and drop this conversation.
Fair enough if that’s how you wanna do it. No point in arguing this for no reason if you’re not. Seems to me like people don’t explain their reads here as much as I’m used to where I normally play.
I don’t really know whether I’m a good scum player tbh I’ve only rolled mafia once before and that was in my first ever game. People said i played well in that but its not a big enough sample size to tell you whether or not I’m good as mafia.
When you say unattached scum, you mean a mafia who doesn’t know who the rest of the mafia are?
Yeah, I’m using unattached scum to mean scum that don’t know their partner/s.
People don’t typically make BIG CASES here, but town has a >80% (>90% ?) win rate, so…it works. Elli can expand on this more eloquently than I, but basically long narrative cases tend to look good on paper but in practice are wildly inaccurate and give scum places to hide.

I wasn’t suggesting that its better or worse - Just that its different and you might find me annoying until I’ve adjusted to a different way to figuring people out. Certainly the game I just finished with StarV on the other site gave me an appreciation for that style (it really stuck out noticably on a site that’s very full of long, spammy posts - but it also seemed effective and useful for town).
Sure, I’m just giving the rundown for why it’s that way
It’s definitely an adjustment, and I’m one of the more middling players here, but done well it’s very effective.
Its okay I don’t townread you.
If any method actually works it works. But most of the time people either suck at measuring whether something works or not (intuition) or keep doing the same thing even if it’s around rand (it worked once!).
