Website interface is pretty great all around. The infinite scroll is neat.
I would have liked to get a bit more time with folks in our smaller game. I was intrigued by the different approaches that were represented in there, but only getting to see them for one phase didn’t allow for the complete experience.
That said, I tend to prefer games that are longer than what seems to be the norm here.
The interface is the first of its kind that I have seen. It’s really neat, and I think it ought to be very conducive to certain styles – particularly those oriented toward real-time chatter first and analysis last. I found it a bit more difficult to parse through ISOs which works against my own style, but it wasn’t a terrible chore to adjust (and still better than some sites where ISO features are plain awful or don’t even exist).
The stylistic norms for Mafia play are also highly unusual here in my experience. That’s not a bad thing at all, and it was refreshing to see something so different that I literally had no clue what was going on. I have played a thousand games across a whole pile of websites with various community approaches/mindsets. This one was new.
My challenge in integrating the kind of play that I know best with the norms here did make it perhaps a less enriching experience. That’s nobody’s fault, and I definitely won’t be critical. The methods here were effective. I’d be interested to see how well 451 play travels to other places; it seems reliant upon community dynamics that cannot exist with a solo excursion elsewhere. That may not be true. I dunno.
I am JaggedJimmyJay and I am still the greatest player of all time.
I enjoyed playing with you! I agree that town play here sort of depends on teamwork and knowing each other, and it would help for players newer to the community to have some way of finding out more about the other players in the game. I think as a site we probably need to improve our scum skill as well.
@Nanook would you describe your play in the mu championships as “451 style”?
overall good game to town, I feel i’m too alienated though to play freely on my own again. Would need to be requested, but anyways thank for hosting Nanook!
